in the 3rd photo you can see the Robinson sat on a brown dead looking patch of grass. this was about the length of a cricket pitching lane and not much wider than the rotor width. this is what they were meant to hover within. you could tell quite quickly when the pilot had handed over control lol
the detail in and on the Corsair was quite accurate but not overdone, even the type of the wheels looked good. the size of the thing helped with getting some half decent shots.
a good day though and many thanks to all at Halfpenny for putting on a good show
during good old WW2 there were plans to turn icebergs into disposable Aircraft carrier type airfields. lots of tests were done on all types of ice and even ways of making the ice last longer

i used to have OVER 300 of these types of mags dating as far back as the 1970`s when i started collecting them as a kid. i donated them to a charity shop about 5 years ago when i needed the space and thought i needed to grow up!!..
i thought i was alone in the world in my appreciation of the outstanding artwork on and in alot of the mags. im gutted now lol.
can anyone one remember the issue where in the ultimate sacrifice the Spitfire pilot rammed his aircraft into a HE111 at the head of a German formation about to bomb London?. it was right at the end of the issue.. i remember it with cheesy affection now but as a kid it stood out becouse the hero died in front of my eyes. this never realy happened in a John Wayne movie or in the A TEAM.
