It’s actually 500ft from any person, building or structure.

Unless your house is in a built-up area in which case the ‘glide clear’ rule applies

    Moggy

does that apply to both single and multi engined aircraft??.

RR299 used to fly over my house on its way to and from Chester. it always seemed as though it was on a mission coz it went at a hellava rate at what always seemed near to the lower 250ft limit given to serving military aircraft. it never ever seemed to be high up at the more legal 1,500ft.

always a fantastic sight to see and hear.

a three ship formation, wow, think i would have got the sack from my job gawping at those flying over…

it would be great to see a “””MOSSI PHOTO THREAD””” perhaps. (HINT HINT) in recognition of the up n coming restorations and the fact ones not been up and around in the air for donkeys since the tragic and sad loss of RR299.

get the cast from Dr Who who used Just Jane in that last episode. that would be a massive pull from the young generation and a back door way to explain the reason for the Lancaster`s existance in the first place

. my kids loved it (and me of course) and we are popping over this year to see “that Dr Who lanc”.

anybody with any kind of gun was told to fire into the air when anything flew over Baghdad. especialy at night if the city lights went out it was the signal to let rip and blast metal into the air.

somewhere at some point the Tornado`s were bound to fly into nasty stuff stuffed into the sky in front of them, either aimed or not. they were down in the thick of it so the losses were bound to be quite high over heavily defended area`s.

i remember watching the night attacks on the news and seeing the odd jet give a blast of the afterburners to get the hell out of there once the bombs were dropped. a risky move as it could be seen from miles away

contact RAF Innsworth who hold the records of all RAF personel, serving and deceased. explane in as much detail the reason behind your request and who you are trying to contact without being to waffly anal. you will probably have to pay a small fee and the info may take a few weeks to come through.

personaly my expirence does not lie with computor stuff. i use one finger to tap away and get there in the end. im no expert when it comes to delving into the depths of of something where i cant physicaly turn the page over.

expert or not, i ask and and leave it up to some one who know`s better to come back with the answer. yes on the rare occasion there are one or two plebs that come back with the ” didnt you know that” attitude but never mind

people come to me from all over the world to get me to repair, paint or do some arty stuff for them through my business but i have to be polite even to the idiots, its because my name and reputation is at stake.

those who have nothing to lose will often say things off the cuff that will often offend somebody somewhere at some point

a Typhoon did a sonic boom directly at Shrewsbury about 2 years ago, windows rattled etc as it was heard within an area of 1-2 miles. the aircraft developed a major air leak out of crew compartment and he had to decend rapidly to lower altitude.

that was his excuse anyway lol

as regards yours, it could have been a gas bottle blowing up, this happened near my home as well and it made a hellava bang but this was not on the same day as the sonic boom i might add
