Short answer is Yes. Seafire SX336 was to have been one of (if not THE) star attraction at this years airshow held at Bondues, Lille

thank you. im sure it would have been the star attraction. even in the unfortunate state that its in now it still looks a beautiful aircraft.
hopefully it will be back in the air before the end of the season??
Has anyone checked the leading edge of wing for cricket stump dents?
Richard
would that be Croquet hoop stump dents?. do the French play cricket? lol.
Please don’t speculate guys….it is unhelpful, does not serve any purpose only to upset people and make armchair enthusiasts feel they have a rightful opinion, which in this case, they do not. That is why we have investigators.
I have been involved in aviation all my working life and such speculation is worthless.
well said
engines probably shock loaded so may well end up getting stripped. there`s no use risking a valuable machine like this to chance.
i dare say the “no undercart” horn would have been blarring away in the cockpit as she crossed the airfield boundry so i would like say she was set up for a belly landing.
i take it the airfield is the grass strip parachuting centre so would be set up for aircraft coming and going all day. worrying that there are no fire engines present and only it seems a few paramedics and not any fire extinguishers present as i can see?? even some basic airfields in the UK have an emergency off road type vehicle.
is there a reason why the Seafire was landing there. was it being operated from there for an airshow in the area?
theres a short (in height) policeman i know who`s nickname is “laptop” coz he`s a small PC.

i went up in a Rapide for £65 two years ago for 3/4 of an hour, great fun…. i just approach the private owners and haggle a price to suite my budget..
i was due to go for a flight in a yak 11 for £300 last year was fell ill (man flu) at the last minute so didn`t go.. i did look up the price for a flight in a Spifire a couple of years ago. it worked out at about £2,500 for the hour with £500`ish of that being used just to fire up the Merlin.
wotsit to go to?
all is not lost.. this was Liberty Belle in 1979 after a Grummon Albatross was whipped up by a tornado and landed on N5111N before it became Liberty Belle
that P40 sounded and looked great. it took on another face when firing its guns. its great to see them flying at airshows and alike but after all they are war machines, its almost like seeing a Tiger in a zoo.
just so everyone can see without hunting around
RAF Shawbury in the 1980`s when i was a geeky space cadet (air cadet) with 1165 Oswestry ATC. i was armed with a Kodac Instamatic that i took every where. “JUMP JUMP JOHN” who remembers that? ha ha
oddly enough ide dug these out with the intention of finding out where this Hornet(?) was, “spooky”. these two shots were taken at Sleap in Shropshire in the 1980`s. not the same aircraft as regards the crash post i might add
not the most fab of shots but i was rushed to get them as they did a linal flyby as they did a small tour of of the RAF stations. yes i know they are ther RAF ones but i hope you think them worthy?.
fantastic set of shots. miss the Gazelles and the sound the rear fan made. they used to fly from RAF Shawbury over our neck of the woods.
