I do have a video called ” A farewell to arms ” about the Vulcan were a VC10 pilot (former Vulcan) saying it was a shame they didnt have the vulcan during the first Gulf war as one vulcan could have done the job of about 4 Tornados when i came to dropping LGB’s at altitude. It could still have done a job as a stand off platform or LGB dropper into tadays enviroment
I believe that during the 60’70s Avro offered a B3 version or something along thoses lines which would have been supersonic, they were considering taking the wing back to the strait line version instead of the kinked wing.
The merged Vulcan thread once again again
Went to Brunters on Sunday and got talking to one of the chaps there, He was saying she should be airborne in the next four weeks, then she will do a few circuits off bruntingthorpe then off to waddington for a while, i would think the viewing area will be full when she arrives!
Sorry will have been about 12.30:o
I shall be there then! will coax the wife into coming to yet another air day:D
I here Newark has applied for a new Hangar for the Vulcan and Shack
I think she was sat on a frozen lake ready for take off when she caught fire, so when the summer came and the lake melted, you get my drift:(
