I meant to add that if you get your Night Qualification before you have to send off your PPL paperwork you will save yourself the £76 it costs to have the words ‘The privileges of this licence may be exercised at night’ added to your licence. 😮

I finally got around to completing my Night Qualification this year.

luigi_m_ you don’t say where you are based but a lot of airfields only seem to offer night flying on certain nights of the week and only then for a couple of hours. When I was looking for somewhere to do my cross country trip to we struggled a bit to find somewhere to go that was open and not waterlogged! We ended up going to Shoreham which was a good trip.

If you want to get your Night Qualification I would suggest that you start as soon as possible. My airfield stops night flying once the clocks go forward.

I really do love flying at night. 🙂

There are also some excellent tutorials that can be found on the Internet. A Google search should bring up a few.

To my mind, as one who is just learning, the whole post camera processing business is not an easy one and depends very much initially on trial and error!! 🙂 🙂

I am no expert and have only just recently begun playing with post camera editing but I have taken your photograph and applied the following settings in Unsharp Mask:

    Amount 150
    Radius 0.3
    Threshold 0

This was just a quick play this morning. I am sure that anybody who actually knows what they are doing could come up with better results! 🙂

I also had a quick general play and removed the dust spot and played with the colour a bit in the second photograph.

    EOS350D

I had occasion to use an EOS350D just before Christmas and, for the money, you would have to go a long way to beat it.

I could give a fuller account but the review at Digital Photography Review says it all really.

The only thing that I did was to add the Battery Grip BG-E3 which improved handling for my large hands!

    Canon Lenses

I have the Canon 100-400 4.5/5.6L IS USM which I have found to be an excellent lens. I use it on a EOS 1D Mk11 and have had some stunning results. I also have the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM which has also produced some good results. 🙂
