[QUOTE=RIPConcorde]Here we go. EDI is doing excellent!! Now processed more passengers monthly than GLA for 6 months in a row and is growing more than twice as fast as GLA yearly! 😀 QUOTE]

I can hear ‘riders’ in the distance! 😀 😀 😀

. EDI is too far from NCL for it to have a great effect.

    Does Easyjet know this? 😮

    >>I prefer GLA as an airport compared to EDI, but indeed good news for EDI. Anyone know what the new tower is going to look like<<

Lets not go down the EDI v GLA road…
    New Tower

    Enjoy… 😀

What EDI needs is a longer, harder runway to take appropriately loaded heavies for trans-atlantic flights. Thats the only thing stopping airlines from operating fully loaded widebodies into EDI

I hate to say this but EDI is not actually categorised by
BAA to host long-haul flights. The terminal and ramp are
really unable to handle anything larger than A310 or B767.

EDI might have the odd A330 and above but these aircraft take-up two stands and the terminal area has problems catering for pax above 250.

Yes indeed, the runway has to be extended by at least 300
metres, EDI lost the Emirates service for this reason alone.

I can’t see anything immediate being implemented either,
now is the time to extend whilst the taxiway improvements are in progress.

Otherwise we are looking some 5/6 years down the line and
god knows how many long haul services we will lose in that timescale. 😡 😡

One must remember that I am a grumpy old man.

    I may be keen but not keenly naive… 😀 😀 😀

Looking at that last pic and that 15ft high fence…I understand
from newsfeeds folk might be ask to pay £15 for the privilege of looking through it. :-((
