    excellent but check out the near miss at 2:07 at the end thats as close to an air to air as I need to see!!!

    You can see where the confusion comes from though, even in the handwritten letter the code could well be mistaken for a Y or X…………

    Both my boys have some hanger flying time in the Chino Gnat from many years ago!! remember it being in fine shape back then………..

    Not sure if he’s been mentioned yet but the book I remember most would be Round the bend by Neville Shute. As a young mechanic this book really struck a chord with me………………………..

    The spinner is still on the foward prop? surly you would not put it back on after you remove the prop, then turn it upside down?? My theory is it wasn’t nutted on!! I hope it did’nt crown anybody when they were swinging on it………………or maybe I do…………..

    Looks pretty damn good with that prop wizzing round though! I’m not sure we would get away with that here in the states!!
    I do have an article somewhere on the perils of ground running a Merlin at high speed then chopping the throttle Or prop drive in this case! the big end bolts will fail on a Merlin on deceleration not under load. Royces wern’t really sure why, but just said they did…………..Paul……………..

    Is there really that much ash in England at the moment? I can’t recall a volcanic eruption grounding planes before? and this isn’t that big of an eruption?
    I’m just miffed coz the wife is stuck in London and can’t get a flight until Wednsday at the earliest accorcing to BA……………
