    It was the prototype Spit they used the split peas on… 😉

    Anymore Info on that? as I remember from Rolls-Royce days as being told it was the flush riveted Spitfire used for the attempt on the record breaking speed flight (beaten by the 109 at the time) They used it to save time in production by finding where the flush rivet’s had the most benefit. I believe the Aircraft was used by the PRU after………..

    I’ve been away for a while but why does Airbus hold the Cert? do they own BAC? and when did that happen?

    In one of the Heritage Archive magazines from a few years ago there was a report from someone invoved in the recovery from a crashed areoplane and testing of a DB600 I will try to dig it out and give a few details I seem to remember that at the time they thought it crudely built but effective!!

    Plenty of fire retardant clothing available from the auto racing company’s if desired. including underwear and just plain suit’s or jacket and trousers

    Has anybody actually looked at the picture? You can see just by looking that it’s just been shoved there temporally, it’s on a pallet with probably the display base stacked in front? It’s on 2X4’s for the fork lift or pallet jack………….Mountain out of a mole hill comes to mind………………..
