I seem to remember that the Anderson shelter next door to us in Putney was buried in dirt? sort of extra protection I guess were they all like that or some free standing like yours?
What is the going rate for a Restorable Merlin these days? it would seem cheap to me at $3500 or thereabouts.

Cheeky I know but in the big picture of the cars in hanger I spotted a blue AC Aceca? I would love to know the guide price on it? I have one here in the shop I’ve just finished…………….

I like the complaints from local residence! Damn heathens…………………………………………..
There’s a really Tatty P51 sitting on the ground in bit’s at Santa Rosa airport in California…………………………
How do they manage to join the wing spars with the folding wing? I cant see anything obvious in the picture and I’ve always wondered was the wing weaker because of the joint?

Anybody know why it was damaged at Swanage and manage to force land in France?
The Allison-engined P-51As (Mustang I) showed such promise that the RAF asked for a trial fit of the Merlin – and the result is well-known.
Well Nearly, Rolls-Royce at Hucknell saw the possibility’s of a Merlin Mustang during testing and decided to shoe horn one in then tell the ministry. At first they weren’t keen on another Merlin fighter thinking there were not enough engines available as it was…………..See Rolls-Royce and the Mustang……Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust publications….
No you are not.
(sorry, couldn’t resist)
I’m sorry are you here for the five minute argument or the full half hour?
I have been told before that the smell comes from the man made rubber products used by the Germans during the war when natural rubber was unavailable to them. having a slightly tangy smell and leaving a nasty aftertaste on the palate!!
Is that a Commer Cob?? or ford?
It’s nothing to do with the speed – it’s the sheer complexity and as cool as it might be, the Lightning is actually dangerous. I’m nothing more than an enthusiast yet even I know that it’s a good idea not to fly these jets unless you are 1) An airforce or 2) The manufacturer.
ANY machinery can be “Dangerous” but it’s all about managing those risk’s, Like the Vulcun if it can be shown that they have the correct schemes in place why should’nt she fly?
there were a couple of them at chino in the mid 80’s on the ramp I seem to remember they were water bombers? they were for sale but can’t remember the details now.
I’ve never heard of ‘Hutshus Cluudull’…..anybody?
Still, maybe the Battle-of-Britain is a clue…..or maybe that quote…

Looks like a Spitfire on floats…………………………..
