I love how they kick in full afterburner and then drop flares. Only the saudis :stupid:
Not sure if this has been posted before. Mi-28NM engaging ISIS tanks.
Another photo of Egypt’s MiG-29M. I wonder which camo they’re going to primarily go with?

Any news on what was the cause of the incident?
Impressive bird, but I miss the sleeker lines of the single seater !

I’m with you on the original MiG-29M single seater but still love it. Looks a lot better then the MiG-29UB trainer from the original series anyway.
Interesting, Su-35 back from Syria: 10 ground strikes per bomb, and 1 aerial victory….
Drone shot down maybe? Though that star seen to have weathered a lot more then the ground strike markings.
Full video of the MiG-35 Presentation.
So is the admiral Kuznetsov Operational again and have the MiG-29K flown combat missions of Syria yet?
Wasn’t it already confirmed a few days ago that the MiG-29K just run out of fuel while waiting for the cables to be fixed and it wasn’t a mechanical fault?
The MiG-31 deployment, if true, is probability just away to give some pilots operation experience that they can take back to their squadrons. Otherwise it could also be to act as a deterrent for anyone who tries to intervene in the up coming RuAF air campaign that’s obviously coming.
Sad news about the MiG-29k lost though good the pilot survived. Hopeful lesson when be learnt from the accident so they don’t happen again in the future. Though it would be interesting to know the cause.
Looking at the size of the wing it looks like the Naval Fulcrum and not the original model.
Looks like the MiG-29k is already active over Syria.
Video of the MiG-29k taking-off in tanker configuration at 2:20.
Bonus Video of the Mig-29K during Vikramaditya trials I haven’t seen before.
Thats your problem.
5,500Kg is the specified combat load by RAC-MiG for the 29K/KUB. The payload for these fighters when land based is 6,500Kg like its M/M2 counterparts. The 6,000Kg earlier posted was a typo error.
Btw, almost all the land based Su-3x series are are rated for 8,000Kg payload, where as the Su-33 is rated for 6,500Kg. And that is the max combat load that Su-33 can do from the carrier.
The red item is a dummy Kh-35E. In that specific configuration seen above, this is likely to be the payload in kilograms.
1) 2 x Kh-35E = 520 Kg x 2 = 1,040Kg (Kh-35UE – 550Kg)
2) 2 x 1,150 liter fuel = 1,725 Kg (fuel), taken @ 0.75Kg/L
(not sure how much is the specific value, so…)
3) 2 x 1,150 liter tank = Since these are made of ultra light and anti-gravity materials specialized by the Russians, we take the weight of the tank itself as ZERO.So that will give us a payload of 2,765Kg …..without adding the centerline drop tank.
Not sure of what capacity the center line tank is – 2,100 liter tank or the older 1,500 liter tank, If its –
1) 1 x 2,100 liter tank = 1,575Kg (Or 1,500 for 2,000 liter tank)
Max payload carried = 4,340 Kg (taking the weight of the 3 tanks itself as ZERO)2) 1 x 1,500 liter tank = 1,125Kg
Max payload carried = 3,890 Kg (taking the weight of the 3 tanks itself as ZERO)So thats how the payload looks like for Mig-29K/KUB…..but, you have enough space to raise the foul flag by saying the tanks were empty.
You also forgot to add in the weight of the 2 x R-73.
No doubt that the MiG-29K can take-off me a useful weapons load.
Though I would still would like to see a MiG-29K take-off with payload of say:
2 x R-73
2 x R-77
2 x KAB-500
2 x 1,150 liter fuel
1 x 1,500 liter tank
That would be impressive.
Hopeful we see it during the syria operations but I doubt the MiGs will be load with any A-A weapons maybe 2 x R-73 as we saw with the Su-34.
