Iraqi pilots test flew the MiG35 prototype.

So has there been any new news about Iraqi buying fighters from Russia? I remember there been a model of a Su-30 on some Air Force official desk.

Looks like those Ka-52 might actually be for Azerbaijan.

They sure have been doing a lot of shopping recently. I wonder what Armenia is thinking.

I expect nothing. But i was hoping for enlargen wings & airframe With adittional internal Space for fuel and larger Fan diameter on those RD-33MKM engines. You know, stuff that makes a difference in this game..

Doing that would just bring the MiG-35 closer to a heavy Fighter which Russia already operates and offers for export. If anything MiG should be trying to implement new ways to reduce operating cost and try to differentiate the MiG-35 from the Flanker family as much as possible.

So its a given then, the Mig-35 will just be another Mig-29KUB then.. how disepointing.

It has been known that the MiG-35 would share the same airframe as the MiG-29M and K for quiet sometime. It would just have more advance avionic packaged.

    What were you expecting?

Some nice footage on an air exercise.

The low level flight of the MiG-29 and Su-25 is quite impressive.

Also strafing run from a MiG-29 isn’t something you see everyday.

    Here is another one.

With all this talk about it being pointless for Serbia to have an air force because it surrounded by NATO. What if we have a scenario in a few years were Serbia does become a member of NATO and then hostilities or a minor conflict erupt with one of its neighbouring NATO countries. In this case NATO wouldn’t be able to invoke Article 5, leaving it up to military’s of both countries to defence their interests.

If Serbia was to buy aircraft like the J-7, Yak-130 or Jf-17 as some people are suggesting. These aircraft would be most likely insufficient to defend itself against neighbouring forces which in all probability be operating F-16s, JAS-39 and Old Gen MiG-29 by that time.

If Serbia eventually buyers more MiG-29M later down the track to deploy a fleet of atlest 12 to 24 aircraft. This will give the Serbian air force a good fighting chance over many of it neighbours or at minimum match their capacity.

On the flip side of the coin the Flanker would just be overkill. Why does a country with such a small and mass need a long-range heavy fighter like a Flanker.

    Freehand,

Let me try this again……Does anyone know if the earlier generation MiG-29’s (i.e. MiG-29 Fulcrum-A, MiG-29S/SD/SM Fulcrum-C) can carry more than two R-27 AIR-TO-AIR MISSILES (notice no mention of fuel tanks)? Was four a possibility?

You can find the answer to your question at post #322 on this thread.

I would be interested to know if the new generation of MiG-29 are able carry a kh-59 or KAB-1500 on those heavy hardpoints. If so, would a load out of 2 x KAB-1500 3 x Drop tanks 2x R-77 and 2x R-73 be possible?

    R-27P1/EP1 details:

    Russian SDB:

Wouldn’t call the KAB-250 a Russian answer to SDB, its about the size and explosive werhead of a GBU-12.

Is MV-22 classified as helicopter or aircraft?

It’s a VTOL aircraft. Just the media being stupid again.
