Not really, nothing knew is really being produced at a quicker rate, at the moment its all just claims, like the 6 aircraft carriers by 2020 business that we heard a few years back which was meant to be a fact. Turned out it was complete rubbish spouted for domestic propaganda reasons. I see no reason why any of the current airforce claims are any different, especially as they are said by the same person who claimed the 6 carriers by 2020.
I’m 100% sure but if I remember correctly it was 6 carriers by 2050 not 2020.
The Mistral deal changed Ka-52 fortune , prior to that deal they were suppose to buy 40 odd Ka-52 for Special Forces role but with 4 Mistral there is a need more than 100 Ka-52 and Ka-29 to be based on the flat top.
I don’t think those 100 ka-52 ordered are meant for the Mistral. As the Ka-52K prototype hasn’t flown yet. They’re just a follow up order for the air force. Anyway the Navy will order about 40 Ka-52K.
Are you waiting to see the targeting system like this? 😀
Wow. Looks like they’re going to add a hardpoint under the left air intake for a targeting POD like on the F-15E. I was hoping they would do something like that for awhile.
That attachment is similar to the SURA-K attachment for a HMCS. Implying that the PAKFA may not have a full blown HMDS but continues with a HMCS?
One thing about HMDS’s is that they come with a significant weight penalty and pilots keep complaining about a sore neck, which can lead to a severe issue over a longer period of time.
Is that the reason Russia continues to persist with HMCS? Technology is probably not the answer because they could source systems and components or even complete systems from the French.
I think the PAK-FA will have a new HMD.
Interesting. Is this a PAK-FA mock-up.

MiG-29 production enters transformation

I am curious- does the RuAF commonly perform interceptions, lets say, over the Baltic Sea of say, NATO assets patrolling close/in the direction of Russian airspace? Or do they not care?
They used too.

The nearly overhead strong summer sun and dry dusty background suggests that this bird might be in India. But why paint it in IAF grey so as to not attract attention and then publish pictures on the net ?
My guess is that its a prototype bird. The radar above the main rotor gives it away which none of the Russian Mi-28 have it at the moment, to my knowledge. So if it was built new and they are marketing it to the Indians, might as well paint it in their colours.

What is going on here?
Wow, where is that picture taken?
The Mi-28 looks good in grey.
On second thought could this be the Mi-28 undergoing trials in India? It would explain the colour.
I also agree that it probably isn’t worth the effort but the new Vertical and Horizontal stabilities are interesting. Looks like they’ve been redesign to have a lower radar signaller like on the Super Hornet.
This is a same airframe as MiG-29M. Check side number, this is just a scale model of 154 (forth prototype of MiG-29M 9.15).
The bort number maybe the same but there are clear differences between the two airframes. First the Vertical stabilities are different
also the wings as well (note the 10 hardpoints over 8 hardpoints).

The difference between the MiG-29M and MiG-35 will be only avionics (with Zhuk-AE AESA radar instead of Zhuk-ME used on production Indian MiG-29K, Algerian/Russian MiG-29SMT and MiG-29M 961 prototype), the airframe and engines are the same.
So does that mean that MiG has gone away from the idea of this airframe for the MiG-35?
Belarus expressed interest in the MiG-35 as far back as 2008.

Speaking of the MiG-35 you can also add Yemen as another possible export customer.
Seriously, is there any other airforce beside VVS that could order Mig-35?
Belorussia.
Serbia doesn’t need to buy the MiG-35 if the want new Fulcrums . They could settle for the MiG-29M which is the Land-version of the MiG-29K that is going to be operated by Indian and Russia Navy. It’ll probably provide more then enough capacity for them, at a cheaper price. The rumor is that the MiG-29M has also been order by Syria so they won’t be the only operator.
