Supposedly over Homs.
Look like Su-24
http://mil-avia.livejournal.com/118065.html
Russian Tu-154 with supposedly a MOD delegation has flown to Baghdad today.
Interesting. How do you see this related to the build up in Syria?
How about the KAB-250 – has it been procured yet?
It’s not exactly tiny, but at least a “little” less destructive than a KAB-1500
I’m pretty sure it still being tested.

4 Su-30SM on the tarmac
The more interesting question now is that if RuAF does plan to carrier out airstrikes will there dragging their feet on purchases of new PGM come to hurt them now? Not to mention that the smallest PGM that Russia has on offer at the moment is the KAB-500 which is still a big bomb. American equivalent is the GBU-16 or GBU-48. Not good if you are going to be targeting IS in urban city and want to avoid the bad press of collateral damage.
Anyone have any opinions on this?
Supposedly taken in Syria. Fuzzy picture looks like;
1; A two seater.
2; Has black antiglare around cockpit.= Su-30SM.
Yeah I would agree with you. The Flanker in the bad quality photo looks like it has the vertical stabilisers of the Su-30M2 but it could just be the colour contrast that gives it that appearance.
Well that confirms it then. Definitely a Flanker though hard to tell what model for sure by the tail it looks like a Su-30M2. If it is a SU-30M2 its a weird choice as it was meant to be used as a training aircraft for the Su-27SM upgrades. I would of thought they’d deploy Su-34 or SU-24.
Russia Sends Warplanes To Syria To Join Fight Against ISIS
NPR has learned that four Russian attack aircraft have landed in Syria as part of an effort by Moscow to support the regime of Bashar al-Assad against Islamic State militants.
Pentagon Correspondent Tom Bowman says the Sukhoi jets, known by the NATO designation “Flanker” have been deployed at a forward operating base at Latakia, on the Mediterranean coast, along with four attack helicopters and four transport planes. Moscow plans to dispatch more aircraft, Tom says.
Meanwhile, during a nearly hour-long call, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and his Russian counterpart, Sergei Shoigu, agreed to make sure the respective militaries “steer clear of each other as they each carry out operations against ISIS,” Tom says.
Only source so far so don’t know how true it is. We’ll see in the coming days.
not at all,
how can you think this airframe patchwork would be a ram stealth efficient platforme?

i’m curious to know how russian industry structural design is superior to westerners ?
a simple question
That image is a graphic not any actual photo to begin with. Not a good way to support your argument.
Do you think Russia with all of there might could pacify Syria? I would like to see them try.
Why are people jumping to the conclusion that these flight and build up at Latakia airport mean that Russian forces are going to launch a land offensive in Syria. No body knows including American intelligences what Russia intentions really are. All reports at this time show that all assists are being deployed defensively around the airport.
The US and Russia should really start working together on the IS problem because the outcome that is looking most likely at the moment is that Assad government falls and Western moderate rebel experiment continues to fail and IS is going to take all of Syria and leading to a bigger crisis then exists already.
These air strikes that are being lead by the US which are the equivalent of throwing money down a sink hole. It been one year and what have they achieved against IS? Nothing. They still holding on to the territory they captured in Iraq and Syria.
IS is not going to be defeated without boots on the ground the problem is no one is willing to commit.
Su-25s I assume to Iraqi
I think something got lost in translation here. Pretty sure this was 4 more Helo probably more Mi-28N.
I don’t think so. Libya is not important for Russia, Syria and Iraq are. They could be for Syrian AF to replace their lost Su-24 jets or for Iraqi AF to make deeper strikes on ISIS inside Iraq. Who ever will get them, they will bomb ISIS.
No he means its an ex-Libyan Su-24 that was probably being overhaul in Russian before the war broke out and has not been returned.
Coma is the exactly same one used by the Libyan air force.
Some interesting videos
First Yak-130 doing a simulated Guide bomb release on a bridge. Get a good look at the HUD and MFD layout which we dont see everyday.
Il-76 dropping bombs and preforms strafing runs on ground targets with its tail gun. :applause: Interesting stuff
Mi-28NM?
Nice to see the clean up the nose layout a lot. Still missing the mast mounted radar.
Also where has the gun gone?
It’s to beautiful to be a raptor. :stupid: More like a YF-23 😎
Really happy with all the developments that are coming out for the MiG-35. RuAF’s MiG-35S looks like its going to turn out to be quite a capable aircraft. Just a pity its taken this long.
Hopefully we’ll see some of these mod passed on as upgrades to the India’s and Russia’s MiG-29K.

Well if it intended to be carried internally on the Pak-Fa or not I guess we can at least conclude that the
aerial launched 3M-54AE Sizzler is dead and they decided to design a dedicated aircraft launched cruise missile.

Also whoever is behind the colour chose on the Mi helicopters should be fired. Ugly.
Though good news on the Mi-28NM really like to see what modification it comes with.
