…..and better still! Are you, Duxman, working through your French collection alphabetically? If so, will you next be serving up Caudron and Croses?
A few further images from slides in my collection ( some of the images need crediting to my good friend J-P Touzeau for slides we traded a while back)

Has anybody got the gen on whether the Air/Super-Hanger will be repaired and reopen by this Sunday, as I may be heading out that way with some non-aviation friends. I know that there’s lots more to see, but I would be reluctant to take them with the main attraction (for non-aero people) off limits. The website has no further news at the moment.
Also I notice no Autumn show this year, is this a permanent deletion or just because they’ve got 3x 2-day events, with the September show back a week to coincide with BoB weekend ?
It certainly will not be repaired by that date. Also unlikely to be open I would think.
Thank you, Duxman. More of the same will be much appreciated – at least by me!
A few more then – This time some Brochets

Registered on Feb 6th was Bucker Bu181B-1 Bestmann G-CIEZ. This is ex Swedish built D-ECES, which was with Air Classik for many years as a static exhibit on the roof at Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Probably a restoration project, it’s registered to the owner of MS317 G-MOSA and Auster G-AJEE.
A picture from a slide in my collection ( photographer A Jansenn) of this Bestmann when displayed at Frankfurt on 28/8/1976 as ‘D-EMIL’

An opportunity to post a few further French Aircraft pictures from my collection all from the 1960s. Most if not all aircraft had been withdrawn by the early 1970s if not before.

I just saw that this excellent thread has been rejuvenated. I note the Hawk Trainer 3 F-BDPD in the second set of photos with a question as to the story behind it. I have in my notes for August 1968 that I saw F-BDPO outside a garage in Airaines, and G-ASEA refers to a petrol station in the thread. It could be that I misread the D for an O. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks.
Yes the Hawk Trainer you saw would have been F-BDPD – Picture below taken of it at Airaines in January 1965.

Duxford – Monday 17th February.
Good News – The Duxford site has re-opened with the exception of AirSpace. The IWM Duxford website confirms.

Guess with Duxford out of commission until at least Tuesday updates will be few and far between unless volunteers and staff are allowed on site ! Seems Duxford is having a troublesome start to 2014 bring on the summer i say !
We will of course provide updates again as soon as we are able to gain access.
Meanwhile there are plenty of souvenirs from the AirSpace roof to be had (for those so minded) in the roads adjacent to M11 at Duxford , unless you want to wait for them to appear on e-bay ?

With pictures of a certain silver Spitfire at Duxford recently on this Forum its worth recording that MT847 once wore a silver scheme. Some pictures below from slides in my collection ( first 2 pictures -photographers unknown )
Seen on display at the Medical Training Establishment at Freckleton in April 1963 coded MT-E !

It subsequently moved to Middleton St George before arriving at Cosford where it was seen mounted in the parade ground below in 1967.

.. by July 86 it was in the museum but in a camouflaged scheme without codes.
