A lovely set Tony.
The shot of Spitfire AR501 would have been mid-1975 or later, not 1971.

Duxford update Friday 27th December.
It had to happen sooner or later but noted on passing DX this morning 1 of the 2 containers that has been holding P.47 ‘Snafu’ since the summer has departed from outside Hangar 2 ( or both have gone and another arrived !!)
UPDATE – I gather both containers had left by this afternoon.

Anyone been to Duxford recently? Is the unrestored Zero fuselage still exhibited in Hangar 5 as per this photo?

It was last weekend.
….. and a couple more from me – a nice finale possibly to end the year with.

Duxford Thursday 19th December.
A quick visit late morning noted that Spitfire Mk1A R6915 in hangar 5 now had its wings detached which were in the process of being bubble wrapped in preparation for its eventual return to Lambeth.

A quick check at Lunchtime today found P.51D Ferocious Frankie sporting a ‘new nose job’ and up for an air test. ( Nice to see at least a part of Marinell at DX ???)
