DX 9/5/13 – follow up. The Catalina G-PBYA has just departed for Biggin Hill.
Just come over Hornchurch at quite a pace!!!
First Warbird of the year for me – at long last!
Returned to DX around 7.30pm
The wind here seems to be getting stronger, as the airfield windsock is practically horizontal at times.
Edit… it is horizontal !

Must be why I can currently hear a Merlin running at full throttle several miles away !!!
DX 9/5/13 – follow up. The Catalina G-PBYA has just departed for Biggin Hill.
DX Thursday 9/5/13. As reported on the TFC site the ‘box’ containing Princess Elizabeth was opened this morning. (it isn’t likely to be de-containerized today however)
Meanwhile the TFC P.40B has been moved to Hangar2N.
In the AAM the new markings on the fin of the B.17 appear to have been finished.
In AirSpace the dis-assembly of the Amiot appears nearly complete and has been moved round since yesterday.
Nothing seen flying today (partly down to the windy conditions I suspect) but both the Desert Buchon and the TFC P.47 were seen returning to their hangers after engine runs.
Well done to all at ARCo, AR213 looks stunning.
Other highlights at DX today included the hunt for the container that never arrived and Duxman
Doing a great Usain Bolt impression to capture the above pictures.
Not quite – he wasn’t carrying a heavy camera bag !!!
Duxford 26/4/13 – With the Duxford Spring Air Show just a month away a sign of things to come — the’ First Eagle has landed’
Showing off its immaculate new colours and markings Spitfire 1a AR213 (as P7308) is seen mid afternoon about to be positioned in Hangar 3 (with a well deserved ‘thumbs up’ from its creator ??)
and parked alongside Spitfire 1 P9374 in hangar 3

Duxford 25th April – Another hot sunny day with quite a bit of activity. However I missed the main 2 events. Firstly the first flight of the year in late morning of the TFC P.40B G-CDWH and then in late afternoon the first flight of the year of Buchon Yellow 10 ( although seen from a distance below climbing away from DX for its test flight and practice display !!)
Otherwise a mini hangar shuffle at TFC saw a few aircraft out in the sun. Below the TFC Gladiator and P.40F.
