Buchon G-AWHE below inbound to Duxford late afternoon from Humberside. No doubt detailed pictures of her arrival to follow.
Looking back another 20 years ago to the 22/4/1993 saw the roll out at Duxford for its first engine runs of the ARCo Bristol Blenheim IV – G-BPIV/Z5722. Making its f/f the following month on the 18th May it flew regularly at DX until its unfortunate landing accident 10 years later on 18/8/2003. 10 years on its rebuild once again is nearing completion in the hangers at DX.
Duxford Friday 19th April.
Todays main activity was provided by 2 sorties and practice displays by the Sabre.
In between which saw an equally nice display by the T.28

A couple of further pictures of the Sabre today.
If weather permits, the French Army helicopters presently at Middle Wallop (6xGazelles+IPuma) should arrive at Duxford tomorrow (18th) at 1135 local.
Arrived a little early – the initial Gazelle line up. All departed just before 2.15pm
Looking back 20 years ago today saw BAF Viscount 806 G-AOYN visiting Duxford . Anyone have any more details ?
Interestingly this Viscount was subsequently operated in Parcelforce colours in 1994 before being withdrawn from use at Southend and broken up there early in February 1997 with the nose being reportedly donated to the’ Duxford Aviation Museum’ It is seen below arriving at DX that month. It was quoted as being in Building 50 early in 2005. Where is it now ??
Not much to add to the DCW thread of activity yesterday but for the record a few more pictures of the Catalina below.
Some further pictures from yesterday covering the rest of the aircraft currently at Newquay. I understand the Proctor G-AKIU has temporarily returned to Coventry for some maintenance. Only aircraft not covered was Vampire XJ771.
Old Warden 6/4/13 . A further brief check on Old Warden lunchtime today found the other Hawker Cygnet G-EBJI outside being engine run.
Whilst visiting was Yak 52 G-IUII
The only ‘new’ item noted in the hangars was the unidentified ‘flying wing’ glider
