[QUOTE=Jur;1934355]This is how G-AKIU already looked like 2 years ago.

And looking back further as she was in the mid 1960s at Biggin Hill !

Personally i thought it was a cracking display. At last some sensible variety has been injected into Duxford’s display programme. Right from the 4 x F-15 flyby i thought it was all good. And the Vulcan’s return has been long overdue as well.

Well done everyone at the IWM and to all the display crews involved.

It’ll be interesting to see what the *Vulcan Effect* does to the crowd size.. Not to mention there’s been a decided lack of Vulcan pics on Dx threads.. 😉

Duxman: I think you will find that your pic of E6938 was taken inside a C-Type hangar at Cranwell in 1970 – 50th Anniversary of the RAF College?

Thanks Agcat – I have altered the caption.I subsequently saw it displayed at Rockcliffe in the summer of 1972.

Old Warden 23/8/12 — Snipe assembly seemingly complete.

Time perhaps to compare with one of the original examples of the Snipe 7F1 that still survive – E6938 noted displayed in the early 70s.
