I’m very impressed with the news of progress on the playground, but hugely disappointed in the lack of recent updates and photos on the Duxford tractor fleet. I think I’ll have to make a visit this weekend to check up on them for myself! 🙂
In view of your concern Mike here are 2 from DX today !!!
DX Saturday 19/5/12. Even in relatively poor weather there can be a bonus in visiting Dx as the BBMF Memorial Flight Spitfires diverted in ( Lancaster went to Cambridge I believe) due bad weather en route back to Conningsby.
The line up early afternoon.
After just over 2 hours on the ground it was time to depart as Mk11a P7350 taxies out.
With Mk Vb AB910 and Mk XIX PM631
Mk IXc MK356 had an uncertain start up but was then away.
Departure —back to Conningsby

DX 16/5/12 – 10am and the start of a very busy day at DX as the Catalina prepares depart taken from a slightly different view point to normal.
After lift off and passing the American Air Museum as the nose of the fuselage of the former ‘Mary Alice’ B17 makes her way back inside after her restoration in Hanger 5. A full report of todays activities will undoubtedly follow from DCW.

DX 1/5/12 – Late afternoon with the clouds starting to break and the sun appearing some of the TFC aircraft are ready for action.
SNAFU gets airborne for its 2nd flight.
And is joined overhead by the TFC Corsair in what can only be described as rather hazy conditions. Unfortunately only taken with a ‘point and shoot’camera. Bomberflight may be able to post some better shots later.
Pete Kinsey taxies in.
P-47 and Corsair have had test flights today http://fighter-collection.com/cft/
Indeed – Pictures to follow shortly .
No pictures I am afraid but for those interested the HAC Hawker Nimrod is currently flying and P.51 Ferrocious Frankie was also up earlier.
The Land Warfare Hall is without doubt a very interesting exhibit at DX. To see it go will be extremely disappointing.
If DCW made it to DX today, all I can say to him is you brave man. Horrible wet weather here in Cambridgeshire today.

DX 4/4/12. I believe DCW was having a day off today. Until late this afternoon its been relatively sunny with some local flying and activity filming around hanger 3 (which I missed) A brief visit this afternoon found Harvard KF729 local flying from the Classic Wings area (in the sun)
Down the M11 end Chipmunk WK586 was noted to have gained its military serial (since last recorded 19/3 )
For those with an eye for detail Buchon G-AWHE was showing signs of having a partial ‘nose transplant’.
