Some data not sure it is reliable.

I doubt it is a Grifo. PAF has also looked at Thales RC400 radar for JF-17 which is a very capable radar. But, for logistics reason, PAF might eventually go with Grifo.
I think the radar which has better resistance to jamming etc will be good radar. So the radar which comes with better tot should be chose.

Has the Radar for JF-17 been choosen ??
And then there is the question of midcourse updates via datalink and incooperation into the aircraft systems ….
for Mirage i think it is “Grifo M” and for PG it is “Grifo 7” and for JF-17 it can be any of “Grifo S 7” or “RC 400” or some China made.
Basing an Aircraft on another country design is not a big thing making an aircraft with all the necessary technologies is difficult part. The key question is if the design or what so ever is officially obtaing or unofficially. This is a unique case because Israel cannot claim that it officially sold the design because of the obvius reason. And unofficial charge can also be not made for different reasons.
Mirage is currently the Testing platform for BVR missles both Air to air and Air to ground.
$40M per aircraft Excellent price
SEATTLE (Reuters) – The U.S. Navy on Monday said it had ordered 210 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet attack jets worth $8.5 billion from Boeing Co. and would pay Boeing $979 million to develop and demonstrate a new variant, the EA-18G, with upgraded weapons.
The Navy had previously ordered 222 Super Hornets under a five-year deal that expires in 2004 and had been expected to buy a total of at least 548 by 2010, according to Boeing’s Web site.
Deliveries under the latest contract will run from 2007 through 2011 at an average rate of 42 a year from Boeing’s assembly line in St. Louis. The Navy has an option to buy up to six more jets per year.
Shares of Boeing rose in after-hours trade to $43.27 after closing earlier at $42 on the New York Stock Exchange (News – Websites) .
Boeing, the No. 2 U.S. military contractor, is also developing the EA-18G, an electronic attack jet carrying jamming equipment and defensive missiles.
Chicago-based Boeing employs more than 2,000 subcontractors on the F/A-18 program, with major work done by Northrop Grumman Corp., Raytheon Co. and General Electric Co., which builds the aircraft’s twin engines.
Found this picture on web. Not sure its real or not.
Price should also be taken into consideration. Tomhawk price has now gone below $1m. it is better to flood the defence system with thousands of missles.

read it (first flight on 12-26-03), and that it’s
supposedly dual engined. However, like the FC-1, the world needed pix and there are only unsubstantiated claims!!!
But, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen either of course because unlike that of the FC-1 situation, the (J-10) on the
other hand wasn’t a joint venture. Thus, the Chinese was not obligated to make revelations.BTW, I also read something today about the Chinese working on unmanned fighter projects just as
what the US is doing and that it would be the next big thing for the Chinese after their 4thG (western standard)/
5thG (Russian standard) J-12/XXJ project is finalized. Heard anything in that respect on other sites???I guess they (Chinese) are learning and
they are learning fast. And, that the pressure for them to produce and
to deliver is showing unpresidented results…
J-12 is i think 4th generation Chinese aircraft in terms of 5th generation Western standard. Russian standards are arbitrary.
Israel will have to buy or lease some of these just to show to the world how good these products are.
Also got this translation from UD2 from Pakdef forum. Don’t know if it is this video tranalation or some other.
“yes all the MFDs you see are of the JF-17/FC-1
anyways some important information from the video.
Aircraft has
7 external hard points
3500 kg arms load
4 direction digitia and 2 direction simulated electronic FBW system.
Able to launch advenced mid range BVR standoff weapon
This plane is considered as 3rd generation in Chinese terms, and therefore is the equal of 4th generation western terms.
over 60 companies involved in the project
Initial contract signing 1999.
overview planning and tast assignment completed in 2 months
blue print delivered 9 months after
internal works completed and external works started 2 months after the deliver of the blue prints
8 month completes 8 major ground tests
4 days after first engine start, completes taxi test.
First flight Aug 25 2003″
Development Period 2 years
2100 hr engine life thats good. and i think manufacturing quality will also be good.

Uhm… isn’t it a bit premature to announce the Indian military signing a contract?
Not only contract but follow up is also important. I thought they already had all T-90s.
So if these Su-27SM are better than -MKI that means Russian has learned from tech that was transferred to -MKI and is first applying to themselves.
Why it is still not signed. I thought it was signed six months ago.
