Let us not forget that a couple of months ago, Israeli fighters overflew Damascus and blew up a “terrorist camp”, so much for Syrian Air Defence and EW, how would Iran fare?

Well They are making some kind of AWACS from An-140 type aircraft. Around 24 F-14 are operational while some reports put it around 50. Su-24 is their main strike figher. About 28 functional Mig 29 not upto SMT standard. One IL-76 AWACS with Tiger type radar on it. other aircrafts are F-4, F-5, Mirage F-1EQs etc. Country is big so alot of places to hide things. But i don’t think this plant is the place to make nuclear weopons. There are hundred of Iran scientist taking eduction in this field from Russian institues. So if these comeback they will have a some kind of weopon in the near future.

Su series is proven platform like F-15E and EF are new so the progress is slow and you cannot compare a German quality and technology with Russian with patches of technology from Israel and France.

That Iranian think seems to me correct to certain extent. Pak and Iran were great allies in 1980s when pak helped them in war against iraq but relations have gone down since 1990s due to afgahan issue.

I mean transfer it to China and take it from there in some kind of Y series aircraft pak have i think one or two examples of these. no need to use C-130 for this kind of mission.

Pak has all weather road to China so sending around the globe C-130 to NK for some missle part is not that plausible. It can be easily done through road network. Any visit to NK by any foreign aircraft seems suspicious that may be the reason.

NK itself is not a threat(They may be not tha irratioal). The threat is their selling of technology and missles to Middleast.

I have read in http://www.pravda.ru that Russia offered complete system for $4.4B to protect this plant but still not taken up. one battery may not have the effect on major airstrike .

If F-16 and F-15 use the same engine than F-15 is a better option. Same engine, Same weopons and Singapore does need to be independent from US.

Yes Subs would seem the best option but does Israel really have the capability to fire ballistic missiles from subs?

Iran has much better relation with Russia and Armenia and inside Azerbaijan didnot like that but is forced to do so due to opposing forces.

Price capability ratio should also be taken into account. J-7 variants are much cheaper than developing an entire new plane.

I’m very aware that such an action could end in major theatre conflict. I can’t look inside Sharon’s head, but I wouldn’t bet that Israel wouldn’t use nuclear warheads in a pre-emptive nuclear strike. And I can’t second other notions here, that Isreal would only use their nuclear warheads as deterrence. Contrary I can’t imagine a country more likely to do a pre-emptive nuclear strike.

But how realistic is an Israeli action against Iran altogether?

@ 177: How should they get their jets there unnoticed? Why should Turkey or Russia let that stunt be pulled? Azerbaijan is as far away from Bushehr as Tel Aviv. Egress very difficult.

Sign treaty with Azerbaijan and announce large scale military exercises and at the end do the strike.

Azerbaijan is possible because it is only out of place nation in Russia and Iran sphere of influence place But cost of retribution will be too high for that nation to pay. Otherwise Iranians are much more educated and clever than Arabs and have large influence in ****e population of Iraq and persian speaking population of Afghanistan. This thing will require great skill to be sucessfull pulled off.
