NSS!
In the real world, a please & thank you and a moments idle chit-chat will open many fuel valve suppliers vaults, amongst other things.
Can you keep answers to min please, we are not interested in idle chitchat.

You’re asking in the wrong place then.
…. not necessarily very good at fuel management though
I’m suprised you’ve not been sent to live under a bridge yet. How have you managed that?
Warm front moving south!
Warm front moving south!
Chippie51 is spot on – whilst some CAA surveyors are sympathetic, they work in a system which does not allow that discretion now. Together with all the euro-nonsense, everyone in GA is having a tough time with the CAA while they re-establish their position as an easa outstation in aviations’ pecking order.
….there is a new woman at the CAA who is trying to make a name for herself, so hopefully it will just be ‘blip’.
If its who I think it is, she is not new to the game, and in my experience you just have to play the game to win her over.
The obstacles have been there for just over a year and have not been to much of a threat until this incident. ALL of us flying there know about them.
Nuff said!
Goodbye!
I have no vendetta against aviation. Period. It is the inane discussion of avoidable incidents and accidents which really gets my goat.
I have opinions, which others do not like, about the safe, legal and above all the common sense operation of aircraft so as they remain intact and operational, along with the pilots and the general public, so my grand children will be able to appreciate them in the future.
The aircraft I own and fly are nearly 50 years old, so not nearly ready a museum yet. I am aware of the obstructions at the end of my runway and take action accordingly, and at an unfamiliar field, a look-see often helps to identify potential hazards.
With no time on a BF109 I dont know what you can see, I suspect about the same as some other tailwheel types of which I do have some experience.
Posts on this and other forums suggest the poles were there a week beforehand and did not suddenly spring into the flightpath as SP flew over, therefore they were a known obstruction?
As for the Victor, whatever the hows/whys and wherefores, it was an illegal flight, pure and simple. Can you really tell me otherwise?
Thank you for spelling my name correctly, galdri – you are the only one whos managed it so far!
not at all, but we’ve moved on from that!
contributary negligence was a comment which came from another forum not a statement (its a question of grammar), and if other planes missed them why not this one? Just asking the question, even though its a crime to do so.
No ive never been there, were you there? was it good otherwise? what facts do you know other than the vigilante option?
You are blaming
….
No, I am suggesting , just as other posts (including mine) suggest attempted murder and taking action clearly outside the law.
-edit: I got the phrase came from another forum anyway!
I have a jolly good idea where the wooden ‘telegraph’ pole can be relocated to….
String him up by his Kna***rs and let him dangle for a week.
Something mods should also consider before commenting & allowing public viewing?

No mention of qualification or relevant experience by Malcolm – so what do we call that?
? what do we call that then?
Who said anything about a hedge? – read my post and you will find I did.
As I suspect the pole didnt suddenly spring out of the ground, this is to demonstrate it is possible to be aware of an obstruction before departing and take the necessary avoiding action, eg: go around/over, or not go at all if its in the way. The phrase “contributary negligence” does spring to mind, as the pilot has the final go/no-go decision after taking all operational factors into consideration.
However, if they did suddenly spring into the flightpath, an attempted murder charge is the only way to go!
Deliberately or maliciously or otherwise placed there, a more cost-effective means of demolition is surely available? and no, I’ve never been there (or flown a 109 – FS excepted :().
P P P P P P !
I always try to fly over the hedge at the end of my strip, regardless of what I’m flying.
how come nobody else hit the pole with all that flying traffic this weekend?
PRECISELY!
They must have indulged in a bit of P P P P P P along the lines of…
“Ooh look there a pole at the end of the runway. I know, i’ll fly over it as flying through it will cause something to happen.”
