    Space Cowboys

It stars Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, and many other stars. It’s about a retired astronaut who has to return to space for a mission and he insists on partaking in the mission with his equally as old counterparts. It was a pretty good movie, and I’d actually recommend it.

This is a pretty sad story, but kind of funny when I realize just how stupid people can be. It goes to show that they should really make exceptions for security reasons. The fact that they couldn’t proceed toward the aircraft “for safety reasons” is pretty disturbing. Surely there was a lack of smarts used in this whole situation.

I’ve found IMGur.com to be a good site. It’s as simple as clicking a button, selecting the photo to upload, and then it uploads. It gives you a list of URLs on the right that you can use for certain cases such as uploading to a forum, facebook, etc…

You can make an account there and keep your photos in one database, or you can do it without an account for just a quick upload here and there.

Those are some pretty awesome high quality pictures. I especially like the one of the helicopter. It’s pretty neat to see the tail rotor. In many pictures I see, it’s way to blurry to make it out. But this one looks real nice.

Pepsi-Cola used to have its own skywriting plane, a Travel Air D4D. In 1979, they used it to spell out MARRY ME SUE for a TV commercial. The message could be seen for miles.

The story goes that about a half dozen men in that area got phone calls from girlfriends named Sue who simply said YES.

That’s hilarious! How does someone respond to that phone call? “Oh…. yeah….. It looks like we’re getting married…….”

“You’re so sweet, to get that plane to make a message for me!”
    “ohhh…..umm… you’re welcome. I am pretty sweet aren’t I.”

That crane picture sure is impressive. I think I’m going to make that my desktop background for a little while. I’ll surely check out that museum if I’m ever in the area. I need to start planning more trips.

I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much, and laughed so much at the same time. Thanks guys. This is a great post. I just wish I had more to contribute. I’ve got nothing at the top of my head, but I’ll start brainstorming.

That’s certainly impressive that the A320 was able to land safely. It’s quite unfortunate for the helicopter crew though. Great point by ThreeSpool – 20 crew members is very excessive. I’ll be paying attention to this story to find out more information as it comes. I don’t think this article has it’s facts straight currently.

This is always awful news to hear. RIP to all those on board. I’ll be paying close attention to this to find out more details on the cause of the crash.

Haha, this thread is hilarious! I needed a good laugh, thanks guys. Speaking of spelling though, grammar is also very important.

“It’s time to eat, grandma.” and
“It’s time to eat grandma.” Have two very different meanings.
