What do you mean by two different design bureaus?.

So is this the credibility that they cannot differentitate?
India’s Phalcon is no joke. Regardless, China cannot be ahead in ramjeet powered missile development, because RVV-AE-PD is a Russian program. Unless you want to name a Chinese ramjet AAM? [/B]
Have they got in operational service? and what led you to believe
that China phased Array is a Joke?
. It takes minimum 3 Years of training to operationalize AWAC. Read the bottom part of the page.

I am not even bothering to reply to RVV-AE-PD. I have already
put it in my SD-10 thread.

It’s easy to exponentiallly expand in comparison with more developed players, because you had nothing special to begin with, anything you do is an improvement. Regardless, in 10 years time the USAF will have the F-22 in established service, with the PAK FA probably in flight tests (the Russians are hoping to have it ready sooner, but really, let’s be realistic). To think that China can reach that technology level in a decade is *way* too optimisitic (it also presupposes that China’s economic honeymoon will continue indefinitely which is not guaranteed, though I’d say it was a guarantee until at least 2008, for obvious reasons). [/B]
10 years in not optimistic but an understatement. I can only
see Russian arms exports to China only for next 3 or 4 years at
best. After that nothing worth while is left.
A variant of the KS-172 could be used to arm India’s Su-35 fighter force for use against high-value standoff targets such as radar surveillance aircraft and flight-refuelling tankers.
Is there any Su-35 with India?. China is already ahead in
AWACs and ramjet powered Air to air missiles development.
FC-1 is cheap because it is developed and manufactured
in China and price of $12.5M is based on some assume quantities.
I bet if this thing is developed in Japan and in smaller quantities
the unit cost will be atleast 4 times more.
“Owlet dragon” the fight ability and US’S F-16 is equally matched. Data grasps which according to the Japanese Defense Agency, a F-16 price approximately is 2 billion Japanese Yen, “the owlet dragon” has been cheaper than it one half.
Thats important. Matched equally to F-16 according to Japanese
Defense Agency.

If janes is to be believed than they are of the same standard.

Indonesia seeks more Sukhois
HENRY IVANOV JDW Correspondent
Moscow
The Indonesian Ministry of Defence (MoD) is seeking to acquire six Sukhoi Su-27SK and two Su-30MKK fighters from Russia this year, pending funding approval.
These, together with the two Su-27SK single-seat air-defence and two Su-30MKK two-seat multirole fighters delivered in September 2003, would form a full-strength squadron. Further procurement – bringing the inventory to around 24-32 aircraft, allowing the formation of a second Su-27 squadron – is planned

You didnot get the point. I would rather pound the enemy
with heaviest PGMs rather than numerous lighter pin pricks.
Flankers and J-10s are most efficient in Strike role. Using them for
escorting duties is pure waste of large fighter ability.
Now with AWACS in the game the advantage of bigger radars
of heavy weight fighters is minimized in Air to Air role.
And there is no point in putting expensive fighter in WVR situation.
Flankers and J-10 will do every thing at Standoff ranges and
BVR engagements. FC-1 with 1300KM operational radius will
complement them which presently J-7 and J-8 cannot do.
There is no J-7A. And there is no all Su-30s. The rest are
just J-11 and Su-27SK standard likely to be upgraded.
China needs an Airforce of atleast 2000 Combat Aircraft.
It should be like this 1000 J-10s
500 Flankers ( if another 100 Su-30MK3 is ordered)
200 JH-7A
200 FC-1
100 J-XX
The rest should be scrapped.
I am not even counting PLANF.
