Peculiar that electronic words can have such an effect on a person.

I’ve had similar thoughts for well over four years now.

it is a stearman-hammond YS-1, I think a museum in Holland has an example

It certainly is a Steaman Hammond YS-1, it featured in an earlier ‘Wot Plane’ thread on another website.

    Over to you Fleet Shadower.:)

Italian women are lovely before they grow older and into the the black outfits…

The ‘black outfits’ are widows weeds and sometimes worn by pretty young widows here in Spain, as well as Italy and other Catholic countries.

I gave up wondering which country produced the prettiest women many years ago, mainly because I discovered they exist in most countries, but are sometimes hard to find, especially among the Inuits.
Having said that, I gather that Inuit males find Inuit females quite attractive.;)

My father worked on the Mulberry project, but I never found out what his job entailed.
As he was only a Tommy in WWI, so I suppose he was probably involved in manual labour at that time.

After 19 years away from yUK, I can honestly say that nothing makes me homesick, because home is where I live in the now, not the past.

Nothing odd there, just your common or garden, normal, everyday idiot.

I think one of them moved to Melbourne.

The only people that know how to make a decent hot dog are the New York street vendors

But they buy them wholesale, they don’t actually make them.

In the early 60s, I worked for my friend’s uncle, Jean Marc, near King’s Cross. He was a steam fanatic and believed that steam cars were the transport of the future. He was so convinced it was a viable proposition, that he was in the process of building an engine from scratch until just before he died.

The vehicle he chose for conversion was an old Lloyd 650:

Jean’s brother David, was a walking encyclopaedia and it was he who related to me the story of Henri Giffard and his steam powered dirigible, but either didn’t know about the Besler project, or omitted to tell me.

    Nice one, Mr Creosote!:)
