Mi-28 Patches

Anyway we can get a close-up of the patches worn by the Mi-28 crews?

Perhaps this is the evidence? I’d personally like to see the main-gear, engines or the rotor hub as these are the most compact parts of a helo.

“F-16 dropped an LGB. The target was illuminated by another F-16 (either LANTIRN or SNIPER). The Prime Minister also acknowledged total loss of one helicopter there. It is not clear how many bombs were dropped.”

Do you have the source for this statement?

    Turkish Blackhawk flees to Greece

Any further information on this air combat event? “The state-run Anadolou Agency reported that 17 police officers had been killed in a helicopter attack on police special forces headquarters in the capital. A Turkish government spokesman also confirmed that an F-16 fighter had shot down a helicopter that had been commandeered by soldiers supporting the coup. (Date line 7.16.2016)”

Many air combat test (helo vs helo and helo vs FW) have shown that a well trained helo crew with good SA will know about the FW and can counter if faster with a higher air combat kill ratio, if armed as the in the test cases. Historically, this is not the case since most nations fail to adequately train their attack and transport helo assets sufficiently and to arm them to prove out the test studies!

The French reported a number of ground fighter and helicopter kills during the Libyan engagements, does anyone know how I can get more info on these kills, including HUD imagery?

Does anyone have further information and the actual HUD films of these two events:

24 March 2011, “French fighter jets struck an air base deep inside Libya and destroyed one of Moammar Gaddafi’s planes Thursday, and NATO ships patrolled the coast to block the flow of arms and mercenaries. Other coalition bombers struck artillery, arms depots and parked helicopters.” ‘French Jets Destroy Libyan Plane,’ AP, Ryan Lucas and Maggie Michael, Thursday, Mar. 24, 2011.

26 March 2011, “Operation Harmattan was marked during the last 24 hours by continued aerial missions in the framework of resolution 1973. During these missions, the French aircraft (Rafael xx Sqd) have carried out several strikes in the regions of Zintan and Misrata. Pending a more accurate assessment of results, initial observations allow to see the destruction at ground Misrata at least five Galeb combat planes and at least two combat helicopters Mi-35 who were preparing to conduct operations in the region.” Weapon – Sagem SBU-38 AASM Hammer – “rocket-bomb” Libya: Operation Harmattan situation update No. 8 Updated: 26/03/2011 Develop activities Friday, March 25, 2011 at 16:00 March 26, 2011 at 18:00.
