    UAV Shoot downs

… unless they did what the Serbs did and put a PKM in a HIP or HIND and flew along side the UAV and shot it down…

Do you have dates, locations and other such information on these shoot downs?

Great news ………… Alan Warnes was in Pakistan in April and got some great access. He is currently writing a 200 page book on the PAF concentrating on the last 10 years – out in Dec……..Can’t wait!!!:D

Will this included any new information on PAF shoot downs of Russian / Afghanistan helicopters during the 1979 – 1989 period??

    IDF F-16A, Bort #107, 117 Squadron

Looking for an image (in flight) of the IDF F-16A Bort #107, of the 117 Squadron. Also looking for information on one of 107’s pilots; S. Eytan, who on 11 June 1982, shot down a Syrian SA-342L Gazelle with an AIM-9 (F-16A #107, 117 Squadron).

Allied Force showed how vulnerable they are to helicopters with machineguns.

Ink, do you have any history for this statement?

    What is “AFAIK”?

Pilot should have blown it to pieces with 30mm. No kill like a gun kill 🙂

But AFAIK shooting down very slow target with a gun is risky. MiG could have collided with the wreckage.

    What is “AFAIK”?

Can anyone confirm and / or add to the following event?

1 February 1995, Condor War – better known as “Alto-Canepa” War, Ecuadorian Kfir jet intercepted and forced a flight of Peruvian Mi-8 Hip transport helicopters to flee back into Peruvian airspace (“Aircraft said to chase away Peruvian helicopters,” FBIS-LAT-95-022, 2 Feb 1995, p. 35).

The FAE saw action on several occasions. An unending and constant history of border disputes with Peru over the south-eastern Cenepa area saw escalation in 1981 and 1995. The FAE gloriously managed to down nine Peruvian aircraft in this last conflict, among which were one A-37B, two Su-22 (claimed but not confirmed air-to-air shot down) and several Mi-8.

    Documentation or sources are desirable.
