And some awesome photos of Russian Knights flying through Iran, with various Iranian planes escorting.

I’d love to see some of the F-14’s IRST images of the Su-27’s.

A British Army Apache helicopter takes off from HMS Ocean in the Mediterranean

My question is, “Is why is this AH-64D departing without any weapons?” Is this a 30mm mission only?? Is is it a scout mission?

Lybian AF KMi-35 Hind Helicopter Kills

It was reported in Operation Harmattan situation update No. 8
    Updated: 26/03/2011
    “Develop activities Friday, March 25, 2011 at 16:00 March 26, 2011 at 18:00.
Operation Harmattan was marked during the last 24 hours by continued aerial missions in the framework of resolution 1973. During these missions, the French aircraft have carried out several strikes in the regions of Zintan and Misrata. Pending a more accurate assessment of results, initial observations allow to see the destruction at ground Misrata at least five Galeb combat planes and at least two combat helicopters MI-35 who were preparing to conduct operations.”

Does anyone have further information on these attacks and are the attached Images one’s of the Mi-35? Are these images of the same Hind? They look like it, but would like another set of Mark-One’s to confirm.

indeed you’re right, heat pointing downwards make it a yummy target for manpads.

most other helicopters have theirs pointed up like the wz-10

of course Mil engineers probably have some other system worked out that led them to choose a downward config.

The Mi-28 has a cool ambient air inductor that allows cooler air to mix with the engine exhaust before it is vented downward.

No, but we have this image of misrata airport. Not sure of the day and if this fire is related to this even

Is this (Misrata) the site of the two Libyan Mi-35 kills? I compared this image with Google and it is Misrata. Now the next questions are there two fires? One with the red flames and one coming from the the aircraft in front of the hanger?

    Hellfire launches

Hellfire missiles cannot be fired from fast moving jets and Mavericks are overkill & have limited carriage due to size.

What is VMax on fast mover Hellfire launches?
