“Agressive” Air-Strikes by the French Air Force….
In the last 24 hours, the French Air Force bombed (on ground) at least 5 “Galeb” Fighters and 2 MI-35 helico in airfields around Zintan/Misrata

    Source (in French) here

    “Develop activities Friday, March 25, 2011 at 16:00 March 26, 2011 at 18:00.
Operation Harmattan was marked during the last 24 hours by continued aerial missions in the framework of resolution 1973. During these missions, the French aircraft have carried out several strikes in the regions of Zintan and Misrata. Pending a more accurate assessment of results, initial observations allow to see the destruction at ground Misrata at least five Galeb combat planes and at least two combat helicopters MI-35 who were preparing to conduct operations in the region.”

Does that mean they were preparing to take-off: …with engines running and blades turning? Would like to see the HUD images!!!

    Shot down SyAF Gazelles

In June 1982 Syria only had 20 MiG-23MFs of which 6 were lost in combat and 62 MiG-23MS of which only 4 were lost in combat.
    52 of the 62 aircraft shot by Israel were 26 MiG-21s, 10 Gazzelles, 16 MiG-23BN attackers and 7 Su-20 attackers.

Of the 10 Gazelles how many were shot down in aerial combat and by what IDF fighter type?

    Apache crash

It looks like the main rotors flexed down and cut the tail-boom off.

    Sergei Safronov

The superb Foxhound is christened “Sergei Safronov”, in honour of the young MiG-19 driver who was shot down during the efforts to kill the U-2 piloted by Francis Gary Powers. 😉

Not knowing the story, I assume that Sergei Safronov also took a SAM-2.

    MiG-17 Versus UH-1 (1971)

There is a report that a North Vietnamese VPAF MiG-17 downed a US Army UH-1 during Lam Son 719.

Any actual knowledge or more info?

1971, a U.S. Army UH-1 Huey was shot down by a VPAF MiG-17 (Jon Guttman, “Personal Deadly Game”, Vietnam, October 1989, p. 32; Rene’ J. two 30-mm cannons

The PAK FA is to be armed with next-generation air-to-air, air-to-surface, and air-to-ship missiles, and has two 30-mm cannons.

Where are the two 30mm cannons?

With all this Nesher knowledge – does anyone have the Bort Numbers of the Neshers involved in killing (shooting down) Egyptian or Syrian helicopters during the 1973 war?
