Super Etendard Air Combat
Has the Super Etendard ever been involved in actual air combat?
If so = details!
Good description of the event from the Washington Post.

I appreciate the info.
This is not true, i have been to the west bank many years ago and there are no helicoptors there, we would have seen them as they are too big too hide!
I did not think so, but had to ask! Do you have any images of downed helos? Or storied or helo air combat engagements?
This painting was shown in Flypast a couple of months ago and there was an account of the action included. One of the Hueys was registered XW-PFH. 3et’s be honest it was not an unlikely event really. Two types with similar performance ( the UH-1 may just have had the edge in speed) and the shot down type having a massive blind spot above and behind.
Can you scan and post the Flypast article?
Nice, calimero.. To enhance this part a bit, here another nice shot of Azeri Hinds..
How does one get a copy of this image without the copyright mark across the aircraft?
Yes, is a egyptian Mi-6. I have one colour pic on my blog.

Great photos on your Blog!!!!
Israeli soldiers posing for a souvenir snapshot in front of a giant Egyptian helo shot down during YKW on the west bank of the canal. (photo Gat Shmuel 1974-02-20, D335-081 : הנומת דוק )
Anyway to determine if this was, in fact, on the West Bank?
OK!!
1982 SyAF Helo Shoot Down
Does anyone know the location of this crash site? (See attached image)
Does anyone have any other images of shot down Syrian AF helos from the 1967, 1973, 1981 and/or 1982 engagements?
By the moment no more images sorry.
What was the source of the Mi-8 in the Sinai? Do you have a location?
FYI, the helo abandoned intact near Abu Rudis and recuperated by Eliezer Cohen shows the exact same bumps on the tailboom.
They do not appear on photos of Egyptian Hips taken in the 1980s, though.
Can you post the images of the Cohen Mi-8?
On my archive i have two pics of a “strange” Mi-8 destroyed “in the sinai”. Note the strange “theets” on the tail wreck. I never see this in another Mi-8.
Perhaps shoot down by Phantoms as you comment before, perhaps no. More info about this particular helo welcomed.Regards from Spain.
These are really great images, do you have any more? Do you have a location for these images?
As for the “theets” I am at a loss. US helos have attachments on the tail boom for a HF antenna, perhaps the infantry that was being transported used these as ruck-sack attaching points so more troops could be inside. I am told that 30-troops were on each Hip during the Sinai heli-borne assaults.
