 Good job Hyperwarp. This isn’t the first time or place someone has attempted to represent the PRCs LACM programs as an operational system.

Hi folks,
I stumbled across this little tidbit while doing some reading at Bharat-Rakshak the other day.
IAF – Flying Into the 21st Century
Was particularly interested in this passage
In an effort to simplify logistics, the IAF has successfully integrated western missiles with its Soviet designed aircraft and vice versa. Under the first such program, MiG-21s were retrofitted with a capability to launch the Magic II AAM. More recently, MiG-29s have been adapted to carry the Super-530D. Integrating Soviet missiles with the Mirage 2000s proved more of a challenge, but was overcome by the mid-1990s. Indeed Mirage 2000s on missions over Kargil in the summer of 1999 were carrying R-73 AAM. The Mirage 2000 is also capable of deploying the R-27 AAM. It is more than likely that once the R-77 enters service in quantity, it will be integrated with the Mirage 2000.
Certainly a new one too me and a few other folks. Does anyone happen to have or know of any photos showing a Mirage 2000 with R-73s or R-27s or a MiG-29 with Super-530s? I joined the BRForums specially to ask there and have posted on the CDF as well but response yet. Jai Hind (Black Cat) suggested here would be a good place to ask. I did find mention of the same things in an ACIG article but no photos. ACIG is usually pretty good but I don’t know about this one.
cheers

Grumman has completed its studies & approved hawkeye 2000 for gorshkov use.
http://www.hindu.com/2005/02/11/stories/2005021107141200.htm
The U.S. Government has issued Grumman the licence to open technical discussions with the Navy for sale of the aircraft. The U.S. has also provided the necessary “price and availability” document to go ahead with the talks, a top company official told The Hindu .
The assessment will be followed by a “request for proposal” before the final deal. But the company officials said the first delivery of the aircraft would take at least a year after the contract is signed.
I guess I’m missing something but I see no mention in this article that “Grumman has completed its studies & approved hawkeye 2000 for gorshkov use.” Apart from your own quote there is
the Navy has invited next week the United States defence firm Northrop Grumman, aircraft manufacturer, for initial aircraft carrier compatibility assessment.
I’ll be interested to see the results of the compatibility assessment, I have my doubts.

In other words, a C2 converted from COD to tanker (or even a converted E2 airframe) might be more cost-effective as complement to E2C AEW and Mig29K F/A.
A KC/KE-2 would be even heavier than an S-3 tanker and the E-2C itself and therefore even less likely to operate succesfully from the Vikramadity or ADS.

Just about the most capable BG in the whole Indian Ocean (USN not including ofcourse).
Well I guess it is. Since its the only BG in the Indian Ocean apart from the US.
