    A week last Sunday I also did Frankfurt for the Automecanika show at the Messe.

    Went out of BHX at 06.30 on a LH 735, nice flight, only about half full, had a row to myself!

    Flew back on the just after 10 flight, operated by a 733. this was full but still made good time and back into BHX by 22-30!

    Managed to grab a couple of hours walking around FRA, some really interesting stuff in there.

    I wonder when they say New York, they mean a provincial airport within a 5 hour drive of New York :p

    I don’t think the current situation is going to help the tourist indudtry for bookings. the economic downturn, the possible loss of their holidays, just at the time when a lot of tour operators start gearing up to flog their Summer 2009 programme.

    I booked my Summer 2009 flights fron BHX to ACE last night on flymonarch.com but still had to think twice before pressing the pay and proceed button 😮

    Just 2 weeks ago I used the Freedom Flights Air Malta Charter from Arrecife to BHX. Couldn’t begin to imagine how difficult or expensive it could have been trying to arrange 6 alternative seats (4 kids included in that!!!!)

    As mentioned on another thread I had the misfortune of returning on a TOM 757 sunday into BHX from ACE. Dirty, old with loose trim, a stark contrast to the MON A321 I went out on Thursday on.

    I fly to ACE quite a lot on Monarch from BHX most recently on Thursday afternoon, mostly operating A321’s I find them a pleasure as their aircraft are always clean. I ALWAYS pay for extra leg room usually sitting in row 4 or 5 when booking on their website. The last 2 times I have had the set of 3 seats to myself 😀

    I had the misfortune of returning on Sunday on Thomsonfly (757) which I found to be dirty with trim falling off seats and overhead lockers.

    I regularly fly to my Villa in Lanza on a different airline to which I fly back on. Just last thursday I went to sort out building work, Flew out of BHX on a Air Malta 320 at 06-25, then flew back on a Monarch 321 at 19-00 the same night.

    I fly with them a lot to and from ACE where I have a villa. I ALWAYS pay the extra to sit in the first 7 rows, even I, at 6ft can stretch out. i know it’s a little different being on A321 but I presume the principle of the seat pitch is the same.

    I’ve flown to ACE over 20 times and landed on 03 all but 3 times. :p
