Well it’s taken a lot longer than I thought and, although I had plenty of help and suggestions, I never did find an actual full photo (with reg etc) of a Main Force Mklll with nose art. So in the end went for a Pathfinder. I was hoping to portray a very early morning arrival back at base. Photo attached for info of all those who gave help. Thanks again. Steve

Well it’s taken a bit longer than I had hoped due to work getting in the way but my painting of the relief of the Kensington Court is now complete. I had hoped the Sunderlands were white or camou but it does seem they were aluminium/natural finish. Not quite as sexy but accuracy is important to me so that’s what I painted. After all your help I thought the least I can do is post an image here to show you the finished article. Thanks again to those who gave help.. Steve

Thanks for your responses guys. Plenty of ideas but accuracy is important to me so still ideally need an image showing the positioning of the art with known sqn code.
The painting is still a few weeks away but I will post a copy here for you all to take a look at.
cheers, Steve
Thanks guys, appreciate the help
I love your composition Paul. Very dynamic and I think the slanted horizon line works very well. I hope you will be getting prints made of the finished picture as I bet there will be a call for them from all the ex aircrew of the unit.
I’m still amazed that Hampshire Police have decided to drop all Air Support!

Hi guys, here we go again! Making good progress on my painting. I’ve gone for the aluminium finish on the main subject (BH-Y) with an aluminium Sunderland circling overhead. In the background will be the 204 Sqn Sunderland landing. Having looked at the Rafweb site I have a feeling that the 204 Sqn Sunderlands were camou at this time. Could anyone comfirm this?
Thanks
Steve
