Perhaps it would be a good place for flybe – DUB/BHD/EDI/GLA/JER on Dash Q-400 and ALC/AGP/MJV/PMI on Bae 146-300, may be some french routes as well. Or even just a few charter flights in the summer or some Transun special departures/day trips

I got my copy in the post today. It says that there are summer charter services to Spain and that there are regular flights to Malaga which (I think) is wrong. Otherwise a good article

It is likely that LH will buy them, since they are looking for a replacement of their 737-300 and 500s. So it is possible that they will buy the 717 and more A319 as a 737 replacement, so both manufacturers would be happy.
Besides LH was interested in the 717 before.

I would imaging LH would be after fleet commonality e.g. All A320 family, but if the B717-200 was used as a regional aircraft, say by Eurowings that would be a different matter.

If I am right Eurowings own Germanwings. If Germanwings got the B717, that would increase the chances Eurowings would get it

Doesn’t the number stand for the number of seats e.g. RRJ 60 has 60 seats
