Reading on airliners.net that Bergamo is replacing MXP, LIN continues unaltered.
I suppose this makes sense if Aer Lingus are a low fare airline. Also Bergamo is same distance from Milan as MXP so passengers less likely to complain at move
I’ve heard Cargolux may be interested. Would it eliminate stops at places like Prestwick or is there cargo to pick up/drop of there?

Bergamo is an airport used by the low costs carriers, isn’t it? So there will be interesting competition between EI and FR.
Ryanair do serve Bergamo as a base but not from Dublin(yet)
