I think Fare4U is operated by Air Malta planes from STN to Malta and LGW to Catania, a couple of times a week but I’m not sure

Does this rumor have anything to do with it?

I sure hope they do come out of this.
They just replaced their old fleet too quickly. As long as they keep the big juicy military contracts and downsize the scheduled operation quickly, they’ll be fine.
Don’t think we’ll be seeing EWR-STN/CGN though

Who is behind Vueling? Are they trustworthy?
Vueling´s investors are companies of the utmost prestige, such as Inversiones Hemisferio of the Planeta group, the leading Spanish publishing and media group, recognized worldwide; The Apax Fund, a European leader in private equity funds; and some top managers of Jetblue, leader in the American airline industry in innovation and quality.
They started operations in the summer of this year and use A320’s. I’ve heard they were one of the most capatilised start-ups for a long while

Strangely though, the DSA based Britannia(sorry Thomsonfly) B737-800 is slated to operate some “W” rotations into HUY. I hope that DSA doesn’t take too much traffic away from HUY. I suspect that after 2-3 years, flights will drop to say 15-20/week from @32 this year. It would be interesting to know what proportion of HUY passengers come from the South Yorkshire area. IMO the residents of Hull and North-East Lincolnshire will still use HUY provided the destinations are available. I think the management of HUY missed a great opportunity here; the airport could have supported a few low-cost flights.
The W rotations are Palma and Ibiza
I’m sure the airport still can support low cost flights, A similar operation to EUJet at Shannon would be ideal, 2,3 times a week to Malaga, Alicante, Murcia, Faro and Palma. Perhaps maybe even Barcelona, and Salzburg in winter. Of course now a potential operator could get a every good deal as management will want to be competing against DSA and not dying a slow death
I don’t think the airport’s charter flights will drop that low. As we can see next summer there are additions (Fuerteventura) as well as the reductions. However I imagine there will still be some smaller reductions in flights
Whatever I think the airport has a secure future with Eastern, KLM, Icelandair Cargo and Helicopters

Hasn’t the problem been it got the B767/B757 too fast???
It will still be operating a fair few services out of IND:
DFW
FLL
LAS
LAX
MCO
PHX
SFO
PIE (St Petersburg)
Sarasota
The only loss is LGA
Plus
PHX/SFO/LAX/SEA – Hawaii
SFO/LAX – CUN
MCO/PIE – San Juan
What about LGA – SFO. I presume it will cease with no replacement – it was Saturday only due to perimeter restrictions
