Why not just sell the slot as they did to us in the past?
Because Qatar Airways can not operate any more flights to the UK. By wet leasing an aircraft to bmi, bmi where techinically operating the flight, using frequencies allocated to UK airlines under the UK-Qatar Air Service Agreement. The LHR slot wasn’t the big issue in this case
I think the government has seen that in practise the plane is just for another Qatar Airways flight from LHR to Doha. Time to renegociate the air service agreement was Qatar?
I would be surprised if they do leave BOH. BOH is a key route for the airline and if they left the passenger BOH-Channel Islands market there would be a HUGE hole in flights from the Channel Islands
And no offence to Shoreham, but do they really make more money flying to Brighton City than they do to Bournemouth?
Fantastic shots there

Hardly any snow at HUY. There is a slight delay on the Plovdiv ski flight as it has stopped at EDI on the way to HUY however
I do not work for Air Wales, but have had regular involvement with staff running the show on a day to day basis, all of whom come across as a professional bunch!
I dont think anyone has a problem was Air Wales’s front line staff
The main reason AIr Wales come into criticism is their scheduling and route network. Here’s some examples:
1. CWL-BRU (the first time), served 4 times a week when, to attract politicians and business traffic it needed to be twice daily on weekdays with an extra Sunday evening flight
2. Aberdeen. Initially served on a sensible schedule through Liverpool. Then it was served through Newcastle. However, at the end it was only served on 3 days a week. Business travellers want to choose from the five working days when they can do business, not three
3. London City. The same as Aberdeen. At the end it was only served on Mondays and Fridays
4. Plymouth. Over the past few months, until they dropped the airport all together, they kept altering, cancelling and reinstating flights like there was no tomorrow
5. Exeter-Newquay-Cork. I dont think many Exeter passengers will be impressed by having to stop in Newquay
6. Rennes. Did they really think they would make JER-Rennes work? And is there really any chance of Waterford-Rennes working or is it just to compete with Aer Arran
7. Paris BVA. I know the serice will not now start, but did they really think once daily services to Paris BVA could compete with the cheaper bmi baby service to the more convienent Paris CDG?
8. Belfast City. What a missed oppurtunity to provide a decent service for business travellers
Of course, it must be highlighted the Air Wales success stories, like CWL-DUB, comepeting against Ryanair, and CWL-NCL. However, as shown above, Air Wales need to improve there network and scheduling. Hopefully they can make a success of CWL-BRU this time around 🙂

Despite the the unfriendfly business schedules, this would fit in with reports on pprune of a LTN based aircraft operating the routes
Very nice shots there. Nice to know Im not the only person who sometimes takes pictures of buses 🙂
It has been rumoured JetBlue are interested in Chicago, but only in serving ORD. However I dont think there are any spare gates there. If you do a search on a.net you’ll probably find something
Thanks for the comments everyone. 🙂
Its a case of the A300 being the only suitable avialable aircraft. Sceond hand long haul aircraft are in very short supply at the moment
Are Aer Arran starting CWL-BHD or not?
I can understand BVA being cut. They would struggle to compete with bmi baby’s CDG service
I also wonder how long before Waterford-Rennes is axe?
