Scooter, is that you?
Or commission a suitable straight wing asset that can do the job for 2-3 aircraft at a time. You’re still going to need straight wing assets for setting up the offboard radar pickets and cargo hauling. Helicopters can only do so much of those duties.
On that note – has the C-2 ever been trialled or used as a tanker for the USN?
That’s just an image from MS Flight Simulator, credited to someone with the username scenium.
I give you scenium:

It’s not a marketing image
No that’s PAK-FA. I recently found this leaked image (the real thing I swear) on the paralay boards and it matches it PERFECTLY:
I don’t think you should leak images of the MiG Ug-Bird on a western forum like this 😡
So the rumours about a vertical takeoff/orbital PAK-FA are true!
I thought they would use the Energia, but that looks more like the Angara…
I think they still have room for some bombs on the underside…
I think a Brahmos above each wing would really make it
Mack – no worries, I think we all goofed on this. Flex was the only one to come out of it with credit 🙂
:D:o
It will all be downhill once the aircraft is unveiled, because the speculation will turn from good humoured discussion on the shape of the aircraft, date of first flight etc. – to people saying stuff like
“iz clrly f22 knock off!”
“oh that tail section looks totally ill designed, i bet sopwith camel is better built”
“i know guy in CIA, he sez PAK-FA was built on fake f-22 plans sold to kgb and will break apart at 6g… srsly”
so on and so forth.
I was trying to find a decent image of that and failed!
I had to laugh earlier, I had the image in my head of the PAK-FA being a Rafale copy with red stars 🙂
😀
You are human
Credit to Flex, I was too gullible at first too
And on it you can see RAFALE written above !!! looks like a duck , quacks like a duck …

PS: and since when the russians talk in knots???
You’re looking at what is confirmed and already known to be, a Rafale simulator.
There are a number of differences between the simulator in those photos and the one we see in the purported PAK-FA picture:

And again – look at the flat surface under the front section/windscreen

That’s what interests me
there is no HUD, It has that “land attack” cockpit of rafale there is Martin-Baker Mark 16F ejection seat. I say it is Rafale simulator. Image is taken from a friendly visit to France.
Can anyone confirm that there is a Rafale simulator with a sliding canopy?
I had assumed the PAK-FA would largely share a cockpit/avionics of the SU-35 but based on the pic above that isn’t the case. Althought it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that a bit of espionage has gone on.. and/or a wholly new cockpit was developed.
Obviously the ejector seat is markedly different to the K-36:
Why the need to develop a new one?
Check this out , just a simple google search …
I posted that already…
I’m not saying anything definitively either way – there are distinct differences between what we see and the rafale simulator, I’m just posting the seats for comparisons sake.
There appears to be greater side to side head restraint on whatever seat he is getting into anyway 🙂
It is interesting that they share a standard label though
I’m trying to figure out the yoke we see in the cockpit – is it the thrust lever, or a center stick ala Su-35
