“I think the 146 would’ve made an excellent sub hunter -very quiet and with 4 engined safety”
What difference does being quiet mean to a submarine 200ft below the surface? The Nimrod has been successfully hunting and finding submarines for years and it’s not very quiet.
There are no hard points on the wings and no space for them, the fuselage is too low to load weapons even if their were space for them and the whole thing is short on power and range, dream on but the 146 does not fit the bill in any way, shape or form.
“how on earth do the UK government expect British industry to sell those products to the world when MOD or other agencies won’t even buy them for their own use? “
You only buy an airframe if there is a requirement for it, there wasn’t.
RAF Phantom shooting down an RAF Jaguar, or does that not count?
It’s not off a T4 it’s from a B(I) 8 or 12, only those marks had G45 or G90 cameras do you have a photo showing the curve of the lower part of the panel I could then identify its correct position for you.
RAF Scampton, visit for the presentation of new Squadron Standard to 617 Squadron along with a Lincoln from Lindholme they formed a static backdrop in the hanger.
WJ206,WJ775,WJ768 & WT305 51Sqdn Wyton
WH945, WJ640 192 & 51 Sqdn But I seem to remember others but no serials, maybe Les B will have a better record.
I have pictures of WT305 on the gate at Wyton and another landing at Wyton but very poor quality.

It’s an optical flat from the rear fuselage of a PR3 or PR7, the heater duct shown is different on a PR9.
But IF the locking pins are seized/corroded in the lock position surely the hatch will stay in place, even if you do fiddle with the hinges?
The emergency door jettison handle withdraws the top door securing claws releasing the door from its retaining hinge at the top, it does not release the bottom pins which stay in position, the door then falls outwards rotating from top to bottom it will need a push and is heavy!!
One source has told me that many of the B.2’s crashed just before landing as the engine cut off was next to the undercarridge control and the pilots would accidently press the wrong crontrol. I have not checked how acurate this information is.[/QUOTE]
The undercarriage selector is mounted to the left of the flying panel on a seperate panel almost level with the control column and clearly visable, it is a twin push selector button, the engine fuel cocks are mounted to the left on a fuselage mounted panel and below the pilots left forearm, they consist of two pairs of levers which are large and very distinctive even in the dark so can not possibly be mistaken. The only engine buttons mounted on the throttle box are the ignitor switches (crackers) which do not stop the engines, in fact the opposite is true.
Unless you really have to, leave them in place, they have been on so long they will be part of the main spar, hitting with a big hammer will cause damage to the spar and accelerate corrosion damage. The TT18 we delivered to Temora still has the pylons fitted for that very reason although as your TT18 will not fly again it’s up to you.
Sorry, ashamed to say I have NO internal shots of ANY Canberra! Very difficult to get in and take decent shots, so have never attempted it.
