A few questions just to get things clear.
If I want to post a series of non-airshow aviation related photos with no text only captions, do they still go in ‘Historic’?
What if I want to post a series of photos from a visit to a museum, again with no text only captions, such as my recent Brooklands visit? Do they go in ‘Historic’?
Finally, what if I want to post images with no text but captions of an airshow from the 1990s back? Do these go in ‘Historic’ or ‘Airshows’?

Can either of you tell me where abouts the crash gate entrance is? I understand its in Hayes Lane, but is it actualy in the lane itself or off Anson Close/Gauntlet Cres etc?
A map with the gate marked would be appreciated.
Geoff.
animx,
Thanks for the info, but can you tell us what is happening at Kenley between 11am & 5pm? Can you tell us who else will be having stalls? Will there be any ground displays/static. Will there be any veterans meeting the public & signing books/prints?
Geoff.
Here are all the Chipmunks from my 1980s/90s albums.

WP921/G-ATJJ minus a few bits & bobs at Brooklands last Sunday (31st July). I gave the spinner a fondle in Steve’s memory.

There’s no one of this name listed in Bomber Command losses (OTUs) or in the regular squadrons for this date. Could he have died of injuries on that date, having been involved in an accident at an earlier date, or was his death not flight related such as natural causes or in a road accident?
I’d try this query, with the correct name, on the RAF Commands forum here http://www.rafcommands.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCForumID6&conf=DCConfID1 This sounds like something right up their street.

Well done to all at OW
Geoff.
Septic,
Is there any more info than above on these posters? Can you contact the local RAFA to see if they can tell us anything?
Looking at my travel options by train, I can arrive at Whyteleafe South, so how long will it take to walk to the airfield & whereabouts in Hayes Lane is the entrance? Also is it worth getting there before 11am when according to the above the event begins. In other words is there access to the airfield before 11am as I’m sure there is plenty to see of the airfield, if allowed?

RAFA HQ know nothing of this event, and it has been suggested to me via the BoBHS board that this is the annual Kenley reunion, therefore I’m not sure if this is open to the public.
Geoff.
We’ll have to have a get-together at the Duxford September airshow, & the Red Lion afterwards, as a wake for Steve.
I have the photo of Steve in the Lightning cockpit as my current wallpaper (hope that’s okay Jen?) & now I find myself saying ‘Morning Steve’ when I turn on and ‘See you tomorrow’ when I turn it off at night.
Geoff.
Septic,
I’ve emailed the RAFA re this event, so we’ll have to wait & see if they can supply some info.
BTW have you contacted the Kenley RAFA branch to see if they know anything?
Geoff.
I must confess that I didn’t take too much notice of the Fury, but it from memory it seemed to be complete.
The fuselage of ‘R-Robert’ seems to be covered/uncovered in the same areas on both sides, so it’s not as if one side is wholly uncovered to show the interior.
Geoff.
The reason I went,

Image 28 – from left to right, Tony Iveson (616 & 92 Sqns – and from 1944 617 Sqn), William Walker (616 Sqn), and Richard Jones (64 & 19 Sqns).
BTW image 27 is on the right!!
Enjoy
