    To the crew and support team of VERA for bringing her over;
    To the BBMF team for support, flybys & providing a cosy hanger;
    To all you wonderful enthusiasts on the forum for sharing your thoughts, photos & experiences;.
    A huge thank you. I have vicariously lived the visit despite being many miles away in France.
    I just wish my dear dad K.G. Thompson DFC who lived in Tattershall ( a stones throw away from Coningsby), who trained as a Navigator in Canada, flew with 101 squadron (Lancasters) on 31 missions in 43/44, had been around to see her.

    I’m sitting here in France unable to get over to the UK (French Postal Services lost my passport renewal application!! Now probably stateless!!) Otherwise I would certainly have been there to see these magnificent aeroplanes. I have really appreciated this forum and have at least been able to share, even though second-hand, the experiences of others who “were there” (lucky barstewards). Thanks to all of you.
    Does anyone know if there are plans for a post visit photo/story/diary /interview book available from the CWHM. It would surely be a best seller and boost their funds. They could share the profits with BBMF. Maybe they’d make enough to come back another time when I’ve got a passport!
    Making it a sort of diary of the visit, with personal recollections of both the aircrews and ground crews, would make it unique to CWHM/BBMF. Something that the for profit commercial publishers couldn’t do. If they could include such material as; copies of log books entries from BBMF crew on their combined “ops”, weather briefings, flight plans etc. it would make it a complete history of an unbelievable achievement. There are enough quality photos taken by forum members and others, (who I’m sure would willing donate the copyright!) that they would not be short of pictorial material. The forward should certainly tell the story of the brave men who flew similar Lancasters in the 1940’s and particularly that of Andy Mynarski V.C. I would certainly buy copies for myself and my family.
    Ideas for a Title??

    You can fit 4 x 500lb across the bomb bay as shown in Night Bombers here.
    ie: the middle station holds 2 bombs.

    Thanks Everyone for your help, I”ll get stuck in to putting a panel together. I do intend to wire it, I have the circuit diagrams so I’m thinking about rigging it to a led light board representing the bomb positions, with 3 different colours representing fusing and release. Connecting to a real bomb bay would be something but ……!!!
