Attached is a photo of Jim Stewart at RAF Abington in Sept 1987, he was the pilot who made the last operational launch, originaly from Scotland now lives in Canada. The model ship is the “Empire Darwin”.
Two good books on the MSFU from the 70’s are The Catafighters” and “Hurricats”

There is also a memorial to the pilots who were killed in accidents within Livepool Airport Terminal.
