and there is no Big Israel from the Efrathus to the Nile right??? your rabby would be so sad indeed.

Actually, there isn’t. The Nile wasn’t included even the the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judea. About the Efrathus, reality aside and ideology aside. Reality – Jordan and Iraq, ideology – of a small group of people in Israel.
You see kfadrat, what you fail to understand is that in democracies, people can voice their opinions, even if they are unexcepted by the majority or the government, which are the same.

but we of course should remember that being an Israeli and a member of the chosen people, you have the right to do/have what other don’t.

    Of course!
not. That remark just proves that you aren’t against Israel or its policy, you are against the Jews as a people, and that’s racism. Heck, the majority of the Jews don’t even live in Israel.

I lately read somewhere that this factory couldn’t even produce weapons grade material and this stunt was more performed as an election stunt for the government at the time to boost patriotism among electors than to avoid a nuclear disaster.

It had the abilty to produce both kinds of nuclear weapons. The reactor was about to be ‘online’ about a year after we did the strike. If we waited any longer, the reactor would explode in a strike and would create a meltdown. Or as Menachem Begin said, “the children of Baghdad are not an enemy”. The accusations as if it was an election stunt originally came from the Israeli Left itself, and made Menachem Begin extremely mad. He said something like “What do you think am I? would I risk a single life of our pilots just to win the elections?!”.

    I’m nobody’s habib

    You’re right, you’re not.

I saw that topic when it started, but I had nothing to say regarding the original question. Truth is, none of us knows what Elta is cooking today. Let’s wait a few more years and we’ll see.
Remember though that in the eighties no one thought Israel will ever produce radars like the green pine and the Phalcon.

I just recalled an interview I read a few months ago regarding the Israeli American excercise. It went something like that:
“An Israeli pilot: We came and did some moves and shooted them down in the excercise. They completely lost in the dogfights.
Reporter: And what will happen in a war?
Pilot: In a war they will kick our ass from 160 miles.”
That pretty much covers it all. They train with these countries in dogfights and sometimes they lose, but in real wars they rely on technology. The result can be seen in Iraq and Aphgan’.

I don’t want to warm things up here, but you can’t just insult countries and people like that.
However, it’s annoying to hear these news. A non stealth F-35 isn’t any better than an F-16E, perhaps even worst.
But you get what you pay for, and given the fact that Israel can’t afford to pay for more than the minimum participation level, I don’t expect much. The Israeli team in the JSF program is already in the States, and according to the Israeli Air Force bullition it was agreed that Israel will be able to make changes and intergrate its own systems in the planes that will be sold to it.

    Just STFU, alright?
It was never, never proved that we gave an American tech to anyone alse without permission. If anything, we sold our own tech, and we don’t give a damn what you think about that. But hey, aren’t you guys saying these project and planes *cough* J-10 *cough* Cheetah *cough* aren’t Israeli based?

Sorry Steve, you are right. The IAI did some refurbishment jobs of MiG-21s in the past. So it’s probably not an upgrade.
BTW, I’ve heard rumors about selling of the MiG-21-2000 upgrade to Uganda and some others, but I think that officially it was never confirmed. Any truth in that?

If it’s the IAI (and not Elbit), the MiG-21-2000 may actaully found a customer 😉

There is that Canadair CL-13 Sabre in Israeli colors but I can’t find that picture…
BTW, did you know that that MiG-21, now called MiG-21 2000, came to Israel as a total wreck from Ethiopia?

What is the origin of Katanga’s Fougas? French? German? Israeli?
BTW, the father of one of my friends was a pilot in the IDF/AF. He was part of an Israeli pilots team that trained pilots in Congo to fly the Fougas that were given to them by Israel.
