That’s because you were there during a Jewish holiday, and on the holydays they bring planes like the Black Hawk and the F-16, so they have to change locations.
BTW skythe, did you happen to take some good pictures of the young lion?:)
What about IDF/AF Phantoms in more recent smaller conflicts against Palestinian targets?
Sure, all the time.
Except when we bomb them with A bombs!:D
No, come on. Straffing inside cities?
Against small groups of people?
We have AGM-65s for that:D
Quite nice… what about a side view?:)
The story goes about this way…
I was flying with a group of kids a few years ago in an Arava (for personal reasons, some kind of a fun day), and all of a sudden one of the girls got sick and wanted to seat next to the window…
The problem was that there were no other seats, and her’s was all dirty from… you know…:D
Suddenly one of the pilots called me to the cockpit and opened a seat for me right in the middle of them… he explained me about all the avionics and such and it was so much fun…
The flight was from Sde-Dov to Hatzerim, and we later visited the Air Force museum:D
We were also visted by the Air Force commander, Eitan Ben-Eliao.
Lavi
Maybe that MiG-29 was ex-Iranian… they must be ****ed off…:D
Well, I’ve been in some, but I guess I’m the only one who got to seat inside an IAI Arava of the Israeli AF’s cockpit while it is flying!
I said that it’s good becuase I’m sure Phantom II loves the sound of the original J-79 more than the upgraded one.
PII, you can see and hear Kfirs in the movie “Iron Eagle”. It was made with the Israeli AF’s F-16s and Kfirs.
Bad movie, good footages.
I think the Kfirs there are actually C2s, which is good, becuase as far as I remember, most of the F-4Es and all of the Kfir C7s of the Israeli AF got the improved version of the J-79.
Sadly, the Kurnass-2000s of today are nearly smokeless, and the Kfirs are in non-flying reserve units, and will fly only in case of war.
Also, my guess is that the F-16/79’s sound is just like the Kfir C7.
We were surprised by that attack just as the rest of the world did. I believe it was the head of our military intelligence that gave an interview about the Iran-Iraq war at the Israeli television, on which he said he is surprised that Iran didn’t try to take out Osirak yet.
He was told about the Irani operation couple of hours later.
tStOrM, hate to ask, but where did you get these pictures?
The first two Sufas have just landed a few minutes ago.
Are you suggesting that the IRIAF’s attack was our idea?
By the way, my book, which is Israeli, mentions the IRANI attack, so why should anyone alse bother to hide it?
Besides, that was self defence. The best experts through the world has admited this reactor has the ability to create the Plutonium which is used for nuclear bombs, and Saddam Hussien never missed a chance to say he will build nuclear weapons.
I can recheck, but I think that Osirak was a 70 mega watt reactor, or more.
A lot more then what they need for research.
thekyle, this picture isn’t representing the Lavi very well…
🙂
Vympel, I have no intention and I’m not about to write everything that is written in that 300 pages book. I suggest you to go read some books about that operation.
