DH Herons Folks:
Good Day!
Interesting thread on a classic aircraft!
We had one sample S.of the border at Tgu, Honduras c. 1969-1970. It belonged to a Co. named “Aero-Servicios” with the reg HR-ASN. C/n 14009.
Unfortunately, it crashed while on approach to Rwy 19 at famous Toncontin airport on May 26, 1970, claiming the lives of the crew & 4 pax. (RIP).
According to witness, some 0.7 N.M from touchdown it made a violent bank to the left & then flipped up-side down crashing in a ravine nearby. We never heard the results of the accident investigation of that sad day in Honduras commercial aviation.
Pictures of DH Heron 114, HR-ASN are rare. Will post one as soon it emerges fm the archives. We would like to see it as G-AMSP while in the U.K flying for RAF & prob as a VIP transport for the Queen c. 1950s. It later became CF-EYX at BC, Canada flying for the Ministry of Transportation. Tks

Any chance to obtain a picture while in FP472 scheme? or N3945C??
The pictures of these Grumman aircraft are rare in FAH schemes. There was another model a JFR-6 also c. 1950s that went to FAH! No C/n/Buno is known.
Tks!
