Are you sure that’s the F-16/79 prototype? I think they only converted one two-seater F-16B for that…based on information I’ve seen on the internet. Did they convert another aircraft? Also if you look at this photo, the J79 engine nozzle extends much farther back than the F100 engine does.

AF72-015568 is the second YF-16 prototype with F100 engine.
That B-52 picture looks fishy.
I only see now your comment on B-52 picture.
Yes, probably a fake or an aircraft coming out of a high pressure zone (temperature and humidity levels) at “high” speed. I put a pence on first solution. 🙂
Certainly not a sonic boom for the venerable bomber.
I know the funding and will aren’t there, but some U-2S type upgrades (amodern engines, cockpit displays, sensors, etc.) would be really awesome on the MiG-25 airframe. I think it would make a very interesting and fun what-if discussion.
A MiG-31RB ? 🙂

I’m a bit confused with BUK-M2 upgrades and BUK-M3 to come. As a medium range SAM, where does it belong with Pantsir, Vityaz, and S-300/400/500 systems being already confirmed as backbone short/medium/long range SAMs?
also, i had a good link before, but i can’t find it anywhere anymore about current Russia’s SAM air defences layers, and comparison.
thanks in advance
