Ka-62 first flight :
Fascinating photo from the Baltic.
Bespokoynyy without Moskit ?
1) In 2004 there were only Mi-28N prototypes. 28/28A were abandoned years ago.
2) There is no mention of any version of Mi-28 participated in Rubezh’2004 where Ka-50 participated. So, i repeat the question again: how could Ka-50 beat Mi-28N during these exercises if there was no Mi-28N? As well as any other version of Mi-28.
Oh… OK now, I missed the very beginning of your debate…
Personally, I’ve only mentionned the presence of the Kamov aircraft in exercises to demonstrate its capabilities…No Mi-28 in RUBEZH 2004…and no competion there…
The Kamov intention was to continue to promote a Ka-50N version against the Mi-28N to procure Russian AF with a night capable helicopter…
Dammit!

Really bad news. RIP … Покойтесь с миром.
As i’ve said, there was no Mi-28N at those exercises. So how could Ka-50 beat Mi-28N during these exercises if there was no Mi-28N?
Who spoke of the Mi- 28N … ??
So, now it’s Kyrgyzstan – ok.)) Guys, can anyone provide any article which is covering this story?
By exemple : AirForces Monthly december 2004, article by Andrei FOMIN, pictures by Andrey ZINCHUK and Aleksey MIKHEYEV, pages 76 to 82.
I asked about this episode. Not Chechnya.
I just never read of that.
If I remember well, it was during RUBEZH 2004 exercise in Kyrgyzstan. A Ka-50 (Yellow c/n 25) was sent (and paid) by Kamov company to participate, in an effort to market the helicopter to the Russian AF.
Yes, that green-red-black roundel and rudder stripes are from the monarch period (Royal Afghan Air Fore). In use till early 1960s when they were replaced by the triangle roundel.
Here is a well-known photo of RAAF MiG-17s and Il-28s with rudder stripes from 1959: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/66/MiG-15s_and_Il-28s_at_Kabul_1959.jpgBtw, can you upload here a photo with the orange roundel? I’ve never seen that one.
Don’t if it’s this one you are talking about :

and the “green-red-black” :
Didn’t take long for it to be stolen. Original;
For info : sorry to Вадим Савицкий but I took the picture from a facebook profile as presented, without the author mentions …

It is Mi-35M with President-S complex
I think we are talking about the same thing : Mi-24VM/L-370 Vitebsk are russian designations and Mi-35M/President-S are export names.
Mi-24VM with L-370 Vitebsk over Hmeymim :

Could not see any Ka-52 in Action. Think I did see Mi-35 though..
