Turbines would be 378 feet high, how can that be a risk? Aircraft away from the circuit and approach lane will be above that height.
Blackpool tower is 518 feet agl and that has never stopped Red Arrow displays or airshows at the nearby airport.

Having seen the effect on morale of almost constantly being on detachment to temporary locations I really feel sorry for those few left in the RAF. The plum detachments have almost all gone so there is no fun in being sent out of home base anymore. The hardest hit have been the RAF regiment especially those with families.
I cannot understand why the fact that Ryanair is looking at Russian Chinese airliners is reported as a seismic shock. This makes perfect sense, there was a time when Brazil was not considered and now look at how Embraer is selling.
Of course the big challenge is finding who will pay for the granting of airworthiness certification for operations in Europe ?
It is all made harder to report when the definition of closed is so varied, there is Care and Maintenance, Relief Landing ground, RAF out and run by Army but airfield still used by RAF, RAF out airfield closed totally but Army running much of existing ground as barracks, Airfield sold, then leased back with only turnrounds and daytime operations with mobile support brought in by RAF.
Aaargh my head aches with the possible ways this could turn out.
But the Govt wants to save money and puts targets to MOD. MOD will fudge the outcome and will save money but the result will be very unhappy serving RAF people, they will end up being all over the place on detachments, rather than sending aircraft to fixed already manned bases.
I really do not believe that they will be tourism draws unless the end result is far more than two restored aircraft.
Poor choice of words, Vulture is an insult to Mr Vacher . Good luck with the rebuilds.
The media have increased speculation but the track record of MOD airfield use shows another aspect ignored by the press. Main based units /squadrons can be disbanded, manning reduced and an airfield still remains in use. Savings are made by lower wage bills and replacing servicemen by civil short term contracts. Buildings no longer needed are leased out.
A recent example is St Mawgan which will be back in use this year by RN and RAF flying units, airfield leased from the council. This is also more likely due to the practice of mobility in operations.
The Hunter owner has sent a message to a forum I frequent to make it clear that he is an enthusiast and that it is not abandoned. He is doing a restoration as time and funds permit.
Certainly the case that the Aluminium pots and pans colllected from civvys in WW2 as part of the salvage drive and claimed to be for turning into aircraft were not usable for that purpose. One of our Blackpool scrapyards still had piles of pans visible in 1966 from the top deck of a bus.
Hope they have a good test pilot handy.

The aircraft was active early that day, it left Inverness around 0300, I wonder of the same aircrew were in command at the time of the accident? seems a long shift.
It is a superb way of getting world free press on the item you have for sale.
I would ask you to take a positive thought from this discussion,
consider the reason for one on one conflict which when expanded starts a ball rolling which if left unchecked becomes full scale war. Emotions run away, reason is swamped and the outcome is terrible.
You can make a difference, find a way which suits you, learn how to resolve potential conflict with others before it escalates. This would be an invisible but fitting memorial to those who died in war.
