I’ve never flown with Excel but I have flown on other airlines with fold down TV’s and they are small LCD’s that fold down from the overhead panel every 4 or so rows.

I have to defend Easyjet at this point from what MINIDOH said. Although I have no idea of the maintenance procedures of EZY, all of the cabins looked well maintained (I know you can’t be sure that if the cabin looks ok then the aircraft is ok but this is how it appeared). The pilots I spoke to did not appear overworked and were all very friendly. I still work on the theory that the pilots and cabin crew do not intend to crash either so if they feel the aircraft is safe, why shouldn’t we? As you all know, I’ve done 4 flights with EZY and am going on my 5th (again BIO-BRS) this evening. I have no qualms about travelling with them. Ask yourself a question: Have EZY had a crash yet? Answer: NO. I’m sorry but they can’t be as bad as you’re making out MINIDOH.
P.S. I am in no way connected with Easyjet, I am just a very satisfied customer!

Rgarding flights to LAX: I was looking in March and got a roundtrip for December with DL from LGW (via ATL and returning via DFW & ATL) for £325 each (although we only paid £100 each as we had $400 in vouchers from getting voluntarily bumped the april before). The price for the same dates now is £675 each so I’m glad we booked it when we did.
Back on topic, great shots Greekdude. I can’t wait to go to LAX for the first time on Boxing day.
It’s certainly big but as for beautiful…………. I’ll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh.

Mark L: Sorry about the lack of detail. I’ll try harder next time ;). That landing was truly horrendous. I blame it on my mother who told me that my girlfriend had had an awful landing two days before and said “There’s no way yours will be as bad as that”!

Flex: EZY are very good. I also enjoyed my flights on HLX when I flew with them in March. I can try and put up a trip report on them if you like but I didn’t take any notes and won’t be able to do a very thorough trip report I’m afraid. Let me know if you’d still like me to try.

I have no doubt that MO’L has no intentions of showing porn on his flights, but it’s a typical signoff line from him, designed to provoke discussion and response (outrage?) from the public, thereby keeping the name of Ryanair firmly in the front of everybody’s mind. Pretty much like we’ve been sucked in to doing just now ……..

I’d just like to point out that by what I said above I didn’t mean to sound like an old granny who thinks that holding hands in public is disgusting. I’m as open minded as the next person but I do feel that showing porn on an aircraft where little children will be on board is absolutely obscene. I suppose Hugh Heffner (sp?) could get away with it on his playboy jet though 😉
After reading that Guardian article, my disdain for the man has stoopoed to a new low Quote MOL regarding in flight entertainment: “Unfortunately for the moment, we think a porn channel is out on taste grounds,” said Mr O’Leary. “But you never know.”
agreed. But this latest measure is not what the customer wants.
You do not want to turn up to check in for your flight and be told you must pay extra if you want to take your suitcase with you! It is absolutely rediculous.
I’m certain that if MOL realy does go ahead with this, easyJet are in for a huge winfall in PAX numbers.
100% agree Bmused. MOL is getting too big for his boots thinking passengers will just put up with any “we want to screw you & if you don’t like it you can lump it because we give low fares” measure. Hopefully passengers will make him learn the hard way that they do want decent fares but with some element of service.
