By the way, back on topic, in case you couldn’t tell from that post above, I’m disappointed Virgin USA have gone for the 319/320.

As a British citizen and we are part of the airbus group I think that this is good news instead of boeing winning every order.
But as far as UK charter airlines this is still made up of moslty Boeing aircraft, who do you think will break this with an order that will replace there fleet to a total Airbus design?. My thoughts are on the TUI group as I would think that the whole BY fleet will be replaced with 320/321 and 330 for long haul.

OK, I’m going to get shot for this but please don’t wish for another UK charter to go for the 320/321 and A330 for long haul. I say keep the 767’s & do them up like FCA is doing or better still be the first charter airline to order 777’s :D.

Ah thanks for explaining that. I assumed all the LoCo’s flew into T1. I now stand corrected.

I didn’t even know that CDG had a Terminal 3. I thoght it was just 1 & 2. I’m confused now (not that it takes a lot!).

I don’t know. It seems to happen all the time on A.net. “My brother’s girlfriend’s dog’s cat’s goldfish told me so it must be true!” is the way lots of threads there go.

Perhaps we need an ‘aviation hobby’ sub forum to discuss things like flight simming, model collecting, trading in flight safety cards and assorted nick nacks etc etc ?

I think that’s a good idea and could work.

Looks like the usual A.net factless rumours

Isn’t this thread a bit out of “aviation realated issues” ? ๐Ÿ˜€

    Now that’s a classic!

Hee hee and the next time someone complains about the misuse of precious bandwidth, they could claw a heck of a lot back by deleting that entire forum. ๐Ÿ˜€

LMAO! There is a load of cr*p there! That’s somewhere where moderation is needed if ever I saw it.

It’s always good to be able to admit you’re wrong ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Seriously though, there are some pointless threads floating around but in general, it’s much better here than it was a couple of months back. I would agree with the flight sim comment, even though I love using flight sim myself.

Regarding trip reports, I don’t know where else they should be put. They certainly have nothing to do with military or general aviation and if you were to put them in the general discussion section they would get overrrun with the useless comments and “discussions” that go on in there all the time. At least they are related to commercial aviation and also, it allows people to express their views of airlines so that others can get an idea what to expect.

Where do you suggest we put them?

I think a lot of people hurl abuse when delayed because they don’t know why the delay has been caused and assume they’re being kept in the dark or bullsh*tted by the ground staff.

I often think an honest explanation of the delay would help to shut up a lot of the moaners?

I completely agree about an honest explanation being the best. The problem is that 9 times out of 10 the passengers are given an honest explanantion (bad weather, aircraft gone tech etc.) and they still think they’re being fobbed off and so continue to hurl abuse at the agents.

    indeed ๐Ÿ˜€

I personaly haven’t overheard anyone complaining on a flight but If I should, I’d be the first person the lecture them on the “behinds the scenes” aspects of the job, ie the stress hiding behind that smile on the F/A’s face.

I would agree with that Sandy. That’s why it annoys me so much when people get really angry about delays. Most of the time there’s absolutely nothing more the airline or staff can do. They are trying their best to get the flight out as soon as possible and people just hurl abuse at them. I too always make a point of thanking the crew when I leave the aircraft as they definitely deserve more recognition than they get.

Mark it was but again the flight times weren’t good. I was in work until 3pm on the friday so the earliest flight I could have got was at about 6:30 allowing for time to get to the airport & check in. The flights to LHR leave in the middle of the day so that wasn’t an option. Also, there aren’t any to LHR really early on a saturday morning (and I can’t get to BIO before 11:00 in the morning anyway because of the buses). The only 2 real options for flight times were LH on the friday night BIO-FRA-MAN or AF on the saturday morning BIQ-CDG-MAN. AF were cheaper so they got my business. Simple as that!
